Swedish TV400 and 24

I think TV400 (a really small channel) is quite crazy.

Season 7 of 24 premieres in one week, and to "celebrate" (or whatever.. :p) this, they are showing season 1-6 during the week. All episodes. 24 hours a day.

There is also a competition angle. There is webcams on TV 4:s homepage (TV400 is owned by TV 4) of some people who will try to watch as much of the series as possible, and maybe succeed in breaking the world record for watch TV the longest.

Don't know if the webcam works for people outside of Sweden, but here it is:

http://www.tv4.se/24

The world record for watching TV the longest is apparently 69 hours and 48 minutes...

They should be at the end of season 3 by then...

Awesome

But I don't think I'd be able to watch any movie or tv show for more than maybe 10 hours straight...

I once watched the whole of season 1 of 24 in one day, took just over 18 hours. But I don't think it's something I'd want to do on a regular basis.

Som additional info on the competition as I understand it:

They are teams, 2 people in each. One watches, the other does nothing but sleeps (I guess), and then they change guard after a while (12 or 24 hours i think it is). The team lose points if the one in the team who watches falls asleep, and there's competitions with regular intervalls which can give och take away points.

The world record haven't started yet, though. The one who will try to break it will begin to watch the 5th of February to the end.

Update:

Season 3 just began, and the first gang is back for a 24 hour pass.

One pair was kicked from the room due to low scores (the winners will get a price after everything is done), so now there's only 5 pairs left.

The second group will be back in 24 hours and watch season 4.

I've actually been watching seasons 3-6 during the last few weeks, and I have been doing it in Sweden :D

There were 2 people trying to break the record. One Swedish woman, and Suresh Joachim, defending his title.

The Swedish woman gave up this morning, after 38 hours of watching. Suresh seems to be made of steel though. You can't see that he's been watching TV for about 40 hours at the moment...
