"Suspected Malware Site"

For the first time I can recall, I got this warning tonight while attempting to visit both Memory Alpha and Memory Beta. Anyone else having this difficulty?

I don't know if this is related or not, but I keep getting those "your computer is/may be infected" popups that auto-open a "scanner" site that you have to x out of fast or it trys to download software. Gotten that here, MA, at at least one fanfic archive, and a couple of other sites as well...

I haven't had that issue here, but I did have the malware warning come up on the Transformers wikia. I've never had problems with any of these sites or with Safari before, but now I'm starting to genuinely wonder if there's really malware there or whether it's my browser acting strange. Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're infected with malware. I would either go to www.geekstogo.com (go the malware forum for a guide and free advice) or try a system restore to a point before the problem began (if not a clean install or full factory restore if your computer has that option).

Yeah, I went to memory-alpha tonight and it always went to the red malware page. I use Chrome.

Hmmm... perhaps there was some issue with wiki sites in general? I certainly didn't notice problems with any other sites last night. I'd be interested to hear if this is the case with others as well, regardless of browser.

I have another unrelated question. I've found for some reason I can't run YouTube stuff in FireFox, even though I have the current version of Flash and I have Java enabled. I keep getting errors that I don't have one or the other set right, but they are. Any advice?

I don't know if flash can go bad, but you could try deleting your flash cookies. It's never a bad idea anyway.

Firefox 3.6 here, both memory wikia sites loaded OK for me. And I have had the "attack site" messages come up for sites occasionally (usually porn though).

Someone suggested on another board that browsers like Safari might temporarily warn on wiki sites if one gets attacked, even if the others are perfectly safe. That sounds similar to what I was experiencing, cause they seem to load okay now.
