Susan Gibney

As a lot of you probably know, Susan Gibney (Leah Brahms in TNG) was strongly favored for the role of Janeway before they brought in Genevieve Bujold. What I didn't know until now was how far they went with her - apparently they filmed several scenes from the pilot (unsure if it was on set or not) but she was in costume with the other actors, etc...

Now I'm very curious. I've seen footage of Genevieve Bujold playing Janeway, but now I wonder if there are any footage/photos of Susan Gibney doing the role... Does anyone here know any more about this?

i wouldn't doubt that film footage or photos exist somewhere b/c all the voyager producers wanted her, but TPTB @ paramount balked saying she looked too young for the part.

It was more her appearance as Erika Benteen in DS9 that convinced me she would have made a good Janeway.

Love the Gibney. Don't see her as Janeway. Plus, having both Benteen & Locarno on the bridge would have been mildly distracting.

She was Benteen during Voyager's Second Season though... Unless you meant Leah Brams.

I do think she was to young though...

She'd have made a very different Janeway, that's for sure. Probably a little more low-key and a little less quirky. But, I think, a good one.
