Survivors Sunday 23rd 9pm BBC One

when I was younger, I used to watch this show on five called "The Tribe" watching this, its like the Tribe for adults, ok so The Tribe is not the worlds best show, and im sure plenty of TV shows & movies did it better before, but the two shows have things in common.

Also did anyone else spot Davros in the episode?

I can't quite put my finger on why, but episode 2 felt like a significant improvement. Still featured some ropey direction and the cringe-worthy dialogue is showing no signs of letting up, but I enjoyed this a lot more.

Perhaps the pilot could have done with shedding 30 minutes? Not sure. Either way I'm actually getting into this, the characters are vastly more likable now that they have a total cockhole of a nemesis to contend with.

Incidentally, I can't wait for the moment where Max Beesley kicks the living shit out of Dexter. That will probably make it for me.

I enjoyed this episode more. In a way, it was a shame they had to pack the whole destruction of the human race thing into the first ep, since it doesn't give much time for plot development.

There was real tension (forget Spooks which stopped being tense half-way through the second season) and the interaction between the characters is becoming more and more believable. I like that they've introduced a truly poisonous viper into the nest now.

BTW Max Beesley. I would.

You don't think he looks ever so slightly, er, simple?

Well, I say simple...

Retarded? Like a British Matt Damon? MAAAHX BEESLAH AHHHLLLLLLLLMMMMMMM

I think like all first episodes Sunday suffered by having to set everything up, the second episode can just get on with things. At the end of the day-like a lot of British apocalyptic fiction- this isn't actually about the end of the world, it's about how we build the next one.

I to look forward to Max Beesley punching our Dexter, more so it'll be interesting to see Max vs. Paterson which has to be coming.

Abby needs to get off her high horse though or she'll really start to annoy me! And you'd think these guys would have gone looking for some weapons by now!

See, I understand where you're coming from but I don't accept that kind of excuse for first episodes/seasons. They had 90 minutes. The first part of the new BSG miniseries managed to be gripping and exciting while having to set everything up. And there is simply no excuse for the poor script.

The first episode should be and CAN be dynamite.

I thought episode 2 was a distinct improvement on the first. More Paterson, that's what I want. I'm really liking his character - pragmatic, individualistic, but not without empathy.

However, there's bound to be some fallings out with him and some of the others, eventually. Hehehehe. I just hope they don't turn him into a Bastard.

I loved how the Girl From The Warehouse was convinced she could build a little empire by manipulating people as she did with That Bloke What Got His Leg Done In, only to have it all took away from her. Hehehehe. Silly cow.

Oh - and Dexter? Yes, he needs his comeuppance. But will it be next week? Or is he going to be a fly in the ointment a little bit longer?

Anyone with at least the minimum of medical or first aid training would know that lifting that pallet off Bob The Casual Rapist's leg would probably have killed him. If you don't move something like that within 15 minutes, there's a good chance the trapped, un-oxygenated blood on the crushed side of the leg will have become toxic, and liable to kick Bob's bucket for him as it rushed back into his system. I think.

Not that I'm a schtickler for realism, just thought I'd mention it.

I don't think we've seen the last of Bob. Also, I don't think Dexter is all he seems.

Well if they're following the original story line, which they seem to be but with some deviation, then there's certainly more Bob in the future, and Dexter too. But the series is half the length of the originals, so who knows where they'll do within the next 4 weeks.

I think he's a local thug who perhaps has an inkling that eventually he'll need to stop shooting champagne bottles and impose some kind of order...especially now he has the warehouse.

Anyone have a clue as to where in the country they are? Strikes me as Yorkshire but could be wrong.

Seems like they're still mooching about the south east. I doubt they've gone as far north as Yorkshire.

I bet they're close enough to London but still technically in the sticks, probably Hertfordshire or Norfolk. Somewhere like that.

I was thinking it was the south east too. I mean they'd have checked out Birmingham for the kid if they were going that far north, surely.

Survivors held on to a decent chunk of its initial audience last night as the show settled into its new Tuesday night home.

The post-apocalyptic drama, starring Julie Graham and Paterson Joseph, averaged 5.33m (22.2%) for BBC One in the 9pm hour. The figure is down by 1.1 million, however, on Sunday's impressive debut.

Survivors helped BBC One win the 9pm slot. On ITV1, coverage of the Champions League game between Villarreal and Manchester United averaged 4.73m (19.9%)
Well it looks like it's doing pretty well in the ratings anyway.

His cousins were in Blackburn not Birmingham.

I knew it was somewhere beginning with B, and not Bradford, so I took a guess. But ok, if they're far enough north to be in Yorkshire, why not take a jaunt over to the other side of the country? Or why not check out Blackburn first.

True, it just still feels very yorkshire to me, just the buildings etc. Let's face it though nowhere in the UK is that far away. Assuming the roads were clear enough and they had the fuel they could get to Blackburn from anywhere in a day.
