I've seen the first series on DVD, I didn't really liked it at first, but after a few episodes I started to think it was really good.

I finally got a reply from them, and they have no information.
So I'm guessing it must have died a quiet death... Shame really.
Well I thought it was a pretty good first episode, especially with introducing so many characters. From the trailer it looks like they're going with the original storyline to a certain extent.
The scene where Abbey and Greg first meet made me think that the rumours Paterson Joseph being cast as The Doctor would actually be a good idea.

I liked it, bit rushed in places but compared to some recent BBC output (yes Spooks Code 9 I'm looking at you) this was well done.
I don't know if it was a mistake or not, but they talked about 90% fatallity rates, by that reckoning there should be about 6 million people left in the UK...doesn't look that way to me!
I'm also intrigued as to whether there is anything in the fact that some people (like May B) are just immune, wbilst others (like Abby) actually contracted the disease but recovered.
Is Freema's character actually dead or will she be showing up again? You'd think the doctor would have made sure before leaving her!

The production values were pretty passable - decent even. The pacing was almost perfect throughout, although it did dawdle in some bits and go way too fast in others. However, I understand that they were trying to get the actual apocalypse bit over quickly but believably, no easy task.
But:
The acting was (surprisingly, given the casting) utterly atrocious - probably because the cast were stuck with poor direction and a script full of stiff, awkward dialogue as though written by a 6 year old, and I found none of the characters particularly likeable. Most of them are just plain irritating.
Also, I can look past a cliche ridden plot provided the execution is up to par - unfortunately that's not the case here, and it ticks one box too many. I was almost with it right up until the "OMG MAN MADE VIRUS" nonsense at the end. That was a cliche too far imho. Then again, what can be expected from a "drama" penned by the same fat-fingered hack responsible for (gulp) Primeval?
The biggest thing that bothers me is the complete failure to convey any of the magnitude of such an earth-shattering sequence of events, either through the bland government scenes or the ensemble's reaction to their predicament. The muslim boy didn't seem to give half a shit about the fact that his entire family, nay, entire neighborhood had dropped dead overnight. The Scottish woman doesn't seem to be able to make their mind up as to whether or not she's bothered about finding her son. One minute she's ramraiding hospitals in a desperate search, the next she's sipping tea and trying to start a commune. Etcetera etcetera.
From this first episode and the trailer from tonight's, it seems that this is a cross between Fallout 3 and Hollyoaks, and I'd rather play Fallout 3.
Unfortunately I'm compelled to watch the rest of the series because I'm a sucker for anything post-apocalyptic. Hopefully it'll get better. I doubt it.

Didn't they say something like it was going to be at least 90%?
6 million people spread across the length and bredth of the whole United Kindom? That would seem pretty sparse.
However, in the London area, a 10% survival rate would leave almost half a million people (about the population of Edinburgh).
So you're right I think - if the 90% figure is to be taken as read, there should be a lot more people kicking about. Then again, we don't know how high the figure actually was (in the original series it was 99%) or how many people we'll bump into over the course of the series.
Perhaps there's a tribe of Daily Mail readers out there, shooting visitors on sight and moaning to anyone who'll listen that the plague was the fault of asylum seekers and pedos.

It was awful I thought, I don't know why the BBC produces crap like Bonekickers and this, but can produce some decent stuff like Life on Mars or fantastic stuff like Spooks. I mean stuff like Spooks is in the minority, and sometimes cheesiness doesn't really affect the show for something like Doctor Who. But this? Just awful.
I don't know, I quite like it. I mean sure it's not fantastic but this and Apparitions are an ok way to kill an hour. There's plenty of worse stuff out there.

Just watched the second episode and must say I really enjoyed it. Partly it's because I love anything post apocolyptic (The Last Train was about the last decent thing I've seen ITV do!) and I like Paterson Joseph (I'm going to be so dissapointed I know when he isn't the 11th Doctor)
Though the last ten mins or so were actually very tense. Is it Spooks? No, but then frankly few things on any channel are. Is it better than most of the dross on telly? Yeah actually I think it is.

Ah, Paterson Joseph. That's another reason I can't watch this. As a massive Peep Show fan I see him in other stuff and keep expecting him to give out Alan Johnson esque lines-
