Survivor: Samoa

Well, the next person voted off Survivor: Samoa...

LIZ! From the team that continues to suck, and apparently makes their "Z"s with the little line through them to prevent them from being confused with a... 2? I quess? So, just in case we might think Li2 was getting voted off.

Shambo is nominated as leader of the other tribe and they win Reward (which got them a fire starting kit, tarp and a good meal on a sailing ship.)

It looks like the merger is next week.

I have to admit, Evil Russell is getting my admiration. I really saw him as a blowhard wannabe at the start, but he is really playing a cunning game. He may end up as fish-food after the merge just because his team is smaller, but I wouldn't count him out.

In any case, he is going to make the reunion show very interesting as others find out the truth about him.

I don't think Russell is half the diabolical mastermind he thinks he is, but I had to admire the way he quickly sized up the preacher-lady and figured out how to play her. "I can always spot another good Christian," etc.

The man is shameless!

I don't know, his tribe, who is generally loyal to him, is on good terms with shambo who is now leader of the other tribe and, and he's made an alliance with the girl who is the leader of the "other side" of the other tribe...

I dare say Russell game's so far is as cunning as Hatch's was.

Agreed. Best Survivor villain since Hatch.

I always cross my Z's. And my 7's. What of it?

It's just, to me, a silly thing to do. 7's I can, almost, see as a seven could be mis-read as a 1 if you're one to serif your 1's and not too clear on your slant of your 7.

But crossing a Z? Strikes me as pointless as I see no reason to do it, futher it's not something I was taught in kindegarten, so... ;)

I switch back and forth between adding the line or not. I just think it looks nice.

Too bad for Liz, I kind of liked her. I really don't like the Laura, Monica, and that other girl combo, they are irritating. I think that Shambo is a lot smarter than people are giving her credit for. I'm sure she is totally aware of the fact that the guys are much closer to each other than they are to her and are only going to take her so far. Even so, it benefits her at this point to stick with them because otherwise she would be the first out.

Though the merge next week changes a lot of things, for everyone. I can see Shambo going to the other side and Russell perhaps convincing the girls (Monica, Laura, and the other one) to vote with Foa Foa for a while just to get out the strong Galu guys. Or, the girls could team up with those guys and Foa Foa is in trouble, with Shambo sitting somewhere in the middle.

I'm starting to like EvilRussell. He's a complete jackass, but he's playing a pretty good game. Not sure why he used his immunity idol, though. He must not have been confident that the plan to get rid of Erik would work. Guess it's better to use the idol when you don't need it than to sit on it when you do need it.

Glad to see Erik voted off- he was way too cocky. It was kind of telling that everyone but Shambo voted for Erik. Looks like she's still out of the loop.

Yeah he'll probably end up regretting that move.

Yeah in some ways, he was a bigger jackass than Russell.

You know I've decided I must be a "regionist." When "Boston Rob" (of Rob and Ambuh fame) was on there, I can't describe my level of loathing for him. But yet now Russell is on there, pretty much doing the same thing, and I kind of enjoy watching him. And the only difference I can see is that Rob was from NE and Russell is from the South.

EvilRussell really screwed himself over during the merge. He never should have told any of them about the idol (or, at least, not more than one), and he definitely over-talked his game during the tribal meeting.

Now, the guy has a target on his back...which doesn't bode well for his future.

I've never understood the logic of telling anyone you have the HII. I mean it's just going to cause the players to do pretty much what happened here, play a game to force it out of you!

A stupid move on Russell's part. He's still my pick to win -and who I hope wins- but this act may have harmed his game a bit.

And Michelle? Good God is she gorgeous!

Oh, and,

The next person voted off Survivor: Samoa...

Erik!

EvilRussell went into stupid-mode when the merge happened. He talked to way too many people and showed 3 I think that he had the immunity idol. That's just retarded. Did he not think one of those might not talk to someone else?

Then when he got to tribal council and played it that was just even more stupid. He's said how he wants to win the game and that since he's already a millionaire the money doesn't matter too much. Well if you want to go deeper into the game you have to take chances. If they were voting him off last night and by playing the immunity idol he saved himself... So what?

He would have saved himself for another week. Galu would STILL have numbers and if they were gunning for him would just vote him off the next week.

If I was Russell what I would have done was looked at my team and decided which one was least likely to be voted off first by Galu. I'm pretty sure that would be Natalie. I would have given Natalie the HII and told her. "Look in case tonight doesn't go the way I think it will and if I'm wrong and I get voted off I want you to have this to at least screw around with the game if I'm not there."

Yea it would have been kind of petty, but so what. I don't think he gained anything at all using it first week of a merge.

Natalie really shined in this episode. She made all the right connections and it was basically her that got Erik voted off instead of Jaison. She was the one going around telling the girls that Erik was gunning for them. She was the genious here tonight.

Agreed, my respect for Natalie went way up this week - she could be a threat if she keeps ingratiating herself with the former Galu. The problem this week was just the lack of a clear plan. It kept changing every 5 minutes until eventually there was a misunderstanding and Erik ended up suffering the price for John's plan. Too bad, I liked Erik's spirit. I wish he had played his idol as well and Jaison would have ended up screwed - I'm sick of him.

I had been starting to enjoy Russell the last few weeks, but this week he annoyed me again. I really didn't understand his plan to just show half of the South Pacific his idol. Laura especially should have jumped on it, given he told her 2-3 days earlier that Ben left with the idol unplayed. From the preview it looks like everyone's gunning for him (which probably means he'll win immunity, heh).

Some great lines this week that had me laughing too, Erik's note about not caring if Shambo votes for Probst, Dave's "making love is my sport", and Shambo's "Who's Erik?" when informed of the plan. *facepalm*

Laura and Monica are finally getting defined characters. Brett and Kelly unfortunately still have had next to no screen time.

And the next person voted off Survivor: Samoa..

KELLY!

In one heck of a spectacular TC orchestrated by Russell.

Damn, if that guy doesn't win this season I'm going to be pissed.

Kelly got robbed - my heart broke for her a bit. Especially since she quadrupled her screen time from the whole season in this episode alone. The faces around the TC were priceless though. Everyone should have listened to Monica.

I was hoping for something totally off the wall to happen, just for entertainment value, like Russell starts believing that Natalie's going based on what he overheard, gives his immunity idol to her, and ends up getting voted out himself instead.

Wow, did Erik look bitter or what?

The preview for next week looks hilarious. The remainder of Galu just stalking Russell every where he goes to find the new hidden immunity idol
