Survivor: Samoa

I'm pretty sure there's no rule in the "How to play Monopoly" booklet that says that palming money is wrong, or deliberately miscounting the number of pips on the dice to avoid landing on someone's hotel is not allowed. But you know what? People DO that. And it's WRONG.

No, there's no rule in the Monoply rules that says that you can't palm money, or "miscount" the dice. But, at the same time, those things are obvious, universal, methos of cheating.
I'd say that those are against the written rules. The rules say you move the exact number of pips, or that you get money under certain circumstances. So if you miscount or palm OF COURSE you're cheating.
Russell did nothing to break the rules of Survivor, written or un-written.
Indeed. Apparently insulting other people's favorites in front of the confessional camera counts as cheating in some people's book

I would like to see Survivor implement a fan-vote segment to determining who wins. I still think the contestants should get the biggest say. But if there's 12 members of the jury voting, I'd like to see a fan-vote that would account for say 2 or 3 votes.

It would give an audience participation type thing to the final decision and also maybe impact how much thought players give to the confessionals and their actions knowing that things they do which may not be revealed to the people on the show can be seen by the audience who has a couple votes sitting in their back pocket.

The jury made the right call in voting for Natalie. She overall played a better game. Russell without the idols would have been voted out in episode 9. Russell made many mistakes such as sabotaging his own tribe resulting that his tribe is one off the worst tribe in survivor history. He lied to many times that was uncalled for. He claimed to be Katrina victim survivor and a fireman.Russell admitted later on to Mick and rest of his Foa Foa allies that he was multi millionaire. This was fatal mistake and i do think the biggest reason why nobody turn against Russell was because his allies Nat, Jaison and Mick all wanted to make it to the final with Russell no matter what. The argument that Russell is a millionaire and that he doesn't need the money is such strong argument. If i was on the jury i would never have voted for him.
Russell played hard but the pissed of majority of the jury. According to Laura he crossed the line when he threaten her. This isn't good sosial strategy.
Natalie isn't my favorite winner but a least she played a good game by aligning herself with Russell. Russell would have never made far without Natalie and vice versa.

Russell would have never made far without Natalie and vice versa.

Not true. Russell could have used anyone else as a pawn in Natalie's stead too, Ashley, Ben, whoever.
Natalie on the other hand wouldn't have had any without Russell, she did absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure that's a good idea. The audience sees very little of what actually goes on. The way the show is edited could very easily sway voters one way or another. Some past contestants have complained that the editing was biased- allowing the audience to have a say in who wins would probably bring about more complaints. And they already have fans vote for a favorite (who receives $100K).

If you aren't comfortable with those who lie and manipulate on this show and think that the the most honest, nicest people should win, then this really isn't the show for you. I would suggest you watch more uplifting reality TV such as Biggest Loser (another show I enjoy). Survivor is not about being nice and getting along and making friends. Russell is right when he says that if it WAS about that, the show would have been cancelled in the first season for being so boring. I just don't understand why the people who dislike Russell because he's a liar and like Natalie because she's sweet continue to watch this show...they are obviously missing the point of the show.

^^
Besides the fact that Natalie wasn't "sweet and nice" in Samoa. If anything she was even more insidious than Russell, because she knew about and went along with every move he made but at least he was open about it and she pretended not to be involved.

I agree with that point, especially after hearing some of her interviews now that it's all over. She sounds really catty and bitchy, something we didn't see a whole lot of in the show.

According to Jaison and Mick post game interviews. Russell was mean to everyone and was an total prick in his season. Both of them have praised Natalie being a good person that understood that you have to play a good social game to win the game. There one thing to lie and manipulate to get you further in the game but to lie that you are hurricane Katrina victim and fireman then later admitting you are really a multi millionaire is just stupid strategy. Natalie did have a plan b with the Galu girls so if Russell hadn't magically found the second idol. He would have been gone in episode 9. Natalie made a strategic decision in sticking with Russell was because she knew she could win against Russell. Again congrats Natalie, she deserved to win.

I think Russell should have won. He really played the game , he was ruthless, but he did play great game.
