Survivor: Redemption Island Discussion (Spoilers)

No way is Phillip going to win, but he's probably Rob's only chance to win. I think, now that Zapatera's gone, Rob's going to try and get rid of Grant or Andrea ASAP (I'd say Grant first, as he's the biggest threat in the challenges) and then try and pick off Natalie and Ashley, leaving him and Phillip as the Final Two (if they go that route). If it's a Final Three, Rob's probably screwed, because the jury will probably give it to the third person, even if they don't actually deserve it.

I don't know, it's always hard to gauge the bitterness of the jury. I think Matt's unlikely to vote for Rob, he seems personally hurt by what happened and David looked very angry too, but I think Steve and Ralph could vote for Rob over one of the girls just based on blaming them just as much as Rob so they might as well give it to Rob because at least he has a brain. What will be Rob's downfall in my opinion is that the remaining Ometepe members won't forgive him for kicking them out, regardless of who's left in the end.

I actually think David would vote for Rob over any of the other remaining players, unless Matt or one of the remaining Zaps miraculously makes it to the end. I'm also kind of thinking the Zap members of the jury might vote for Rob, because they were constantly talking about how Rob was in complete control of the Ometepe 6, and nobody else on that tribe was ever actually trying to play the game. But these are the same people who threw a challenge just to get rid of Russell, so I dunno.

I agree that Rob's downfall (if it comes) will be the bitterness of the Ometepe members, if he successfully gets rid of them. Good thing he has the hidden immunity idol; I think he's going to need it.

Between Matt's Christ-like suffering for a God that's invested in the outcome of a reality show, the spirits of Phillip's ancestors guiding him to his shorts, Rob leading a cult of devoted followers, and Ralph speaking in tongues, my atheism has really been challenged by this season of Survivor. I might have to rethink my whole worldview.

I'm glad the double elimination got the other team out of the way so we can finally get to Rob's tribe turning on each other. Hopefully it won't be as boring and predictable now, unless no one makes a move against Rob.

Wow, not much interest left, huh?

Even though the Ometepe 6 now have to turn against each other, it was still pretty boring because it was obviously going to be Andrea. It was interesting to see Rob go all out to win an immunity he didn't need. I wonder how much longer he's going to keep Grant around; he's way too much of a threat in the challenges to have around for much longer.

And I really hope they don't bring back Redemption Island next season. This is just ridiculous. After the next episode there's going to be four people in the actual game, and four people on Redemption Island.

I don't understand why they keep adding so many people to Redemption Island. It worked fine with just two battling it out. Now we have "a four-person duel" as Probst put it, which doesn't even make sense. They should account for double eliminations by having only one person win the challenge that week and the other two going home.

I was talking to my dad about this the other day and an idea he brought up was something I think I would like. The reason there is always 3 people on Redemption Island is I wonder if they are planning to do a final 3 challenge and whoever wins that challenge becomes the final 3 and whoever loses becomes the last three members of the jury. Personally, I think that's the only way to salvage this season because it has really sucked. Even this last week when I thought they would actually start playing the game they really didn't, and like someone else said, having Rob go all out for an immunity challenge he didn't need seemed odd.

One problem with that is that the guys on RI aren't party to the tribal council which could significantly impact their judgement of who to vote for. I'd rather they finish RI sooner than later.

Having someone from RI automatically make the final three would also be incredibly unfair. Obviously if that happens, the person from RI will win the million dollars. Which would really be a shame, because they'd win the game by just outlasting people, not really actually outwitting or outplaying them.

I had a long night last night and I'm feeling lazy today.

In terms of outwitting and out playing, I would say there's been a lack of that this entire season so it really wouldn't matter.

I think Rob may have just cost himself the game tonight. I think he let his feelings for Natalie cloud his judgment and he broke up the Stealth-R-Us alliance because of it. Now if Grant ends up on the jury, Rob might not be able to count on his vote unless he brings Ashley or Phillip with him to the end. If Grant comes back from Redemption Island, he might be angry with Rob and might want to try and get rid of him.

Or, he could come back from Redemption Island and get back with Rob, agreeing with him that he was in a tough position, and not taking the vote personally. He does seem like the type who might act like that, but I don't think it will happen.

It was a difficult choice, and I can see either decision (Natalie or Grant) making sense. Grant seems like he would be the biggest jury threat (just look at the reactions at tonight's tribal to his personal life), and his existence takes away chances for Rob to win immunity. On the other hand, Natalie and Ashley present a threat to actually getting rid of Rob (though, my sense is that Natalie will do everything she can to convince Ashley to get rid of somebody else). It wasn't a slam-dunk decision either way.

I was rooting for Natalie to get kicked out, the look on her face would've been priceless, but seeing Grant leave was pretty sweet too. That's the good thing about hating everybody left on that "island", every tribal council is rewarding, regardless of whose torch gets snuffed.

So, it looks like there may be double elimination on RI. I hope Matt wins. I don't like Rob, I think Phillip is crazy, not Nword crazy, just crazy. And I hate the coat tail riders, theres always one in each season and lately they have been winning. As far as people on RI not deserving to win, it is part of the game this time, so they deserve it as much as anyone else. Matt has played the game in a different way, but he has still competed. Nobody fully encompasses all three aspects of the game. I won't be able to watch Sunday, but I'm just hoping Rob finally gets voted off, but I doubt it. I think he will actually win and Ithink Matt will make it back from RI. If Rob does win it it because they handed it to him from the first episode which is completely stupid. I do think it's funny that after what the other tribe did to Russel, it did come back to bite them in the ass. You never throw a challenge.

I was going to add that Rob is the only one who deserves the win, but I figured it went without saying. I just have this really bad feeling he's going to get screwed over by a bitter jury.

Yeah, I'm not optimistic either. Although from an emotional point of view I'm not rooting for Rob, so if he loses I wouldn't be too annoyed. But from a game perspective, he was just dominating from day 1 to day whatever it is now, 32 or so. The other players aren't even considering voting him out, that's amazing.
Anyway, if Rob doesn't win, the next two "worthy" players imo would be Grant and Matt, in that order. Hard to tell how much strategising Grant did, but he positioned himself quite well despite being a very obvious target and he was great in the challenges. And Matt for not quitting.

Any of the girls winning I would be quite annoyed though.
