Survivor 27 Discussion

Another possible Survivor first: No votes count.

If all the votes go to LJ or Tony, both of them play idols, vote is 0-0.

I was sure LJ was making a big mistake by not playing the idol. Maybe he's smarter than I gave him credit for.

I thought also thought he was making a big mistake by not playing the idol- I was sure he was toast. Gutsy move on his part and it puts him in a pretty decent position.

I'm curious about as to what the Survivor "first" is. Hopefully it'll involve Lindsey and she'll be the next to go.

There must have been a lot of backdoor deals and discussions going on at camp for LJ to be so confident not to play his idol. I thought he was making a huge mistake holding on to it too, but he seemed reasonably sure that he had the numbers to stay.

The Survivor producers just used creative editing in order to make the situation seem more up in the air than it actually was, to preserve the "who's going?" drama and to keep the blindside a secret from viewers. And they did a great job this time.

Dramatically this has been a great season so far, with some good twists and big role reversals, even with the Brains tribe being a massive disappointment at first. I'm glad Spencer (my early favorite to win) and to a lesser extent Kass and Tasha got to dump the dead weight from their team and get in a position of strength with a new team after the merge.

I love how quickly the power dynamic can change among the tribes. It keeps things interesting. It's also nice to have reward challenges back again now that they've dumped stupid Redemption Island (at least for this season; it'll be back).

Well, Lindsey quitting wasn't that big of a Survivor first. Maybe the reason she gave for quitting was new, but I have a hard time believing she quit because she thought she'd snap and go after Horse Face (forgot her name) . She basically threw in the towel because she knew she was next on the chopping block.

Outside of his mouthing off after the challenge, Tony's been playing a smart game. I have a feeling he'll be able to talk Sarah into joining his alliance after the merge. All he needs to do is play the cop loyalty card and she'll probably buy into it again.

I think the 'Survivor first' wasn't so much quitting as quitting that way, by just walking away and telling the producers or whatever 'I'm done send me home.' Everybody else who's quit has either done it at tribal council or at a challenge.

Tony is playing a smart game but he's overplaying it. He's wearing the aggressiveness of his game really obviously on his sleeve. I agree he could probably talk Sarah back into his alliance. And he's playing it in a way that draws a lot of jury anger. Maybe he can Russell his way to the finals, but if he does that, the jury will go as Russell juries go and somebody undeserving will win.

There are two kinds of really aggressive backstabbing strategic games. The Rob game and the Russell game. In the Rob game you screw everyone and they love you, in the Russell game you screw everyone and they hate you. Tony very clearly falls on the Russell side. He's even got a 'Dumb girl alliance'.

Oh, I agree Tony is overplaying it and I hope eventually some of the other players see though him. But he has set himself up fairly well so far.

I think/hope Sarah sticks with the brains. I think they will play smarter than Tony , but maybe not as aggressive .

Kass just totally blew it. She got her authority questioned and couldn't handle it and destroyed her alliance in the process. Now if she really had brains she just would have waited 3 days and then voted her out. Not that Sarah didn't deserve to go though. She way overplayed her hand.

Loved the action at tribal though.

Kass would have been in a great position for top 3 if she'd stuck with her alliance, but ego and/or emotions got the better of her and she made a dumb move. The multiple reversals made for a really exciting tribal, but it would have been so perfect if Tony and LJ had played their idols only to see one of their tribe voted out anyway.

The cameramen are earning their pay with great shots of Morgan.

Re the thread heading: this is actually Survivor 28.

I think Cass just locked herself in as the third place finisher. She basically made herself this year's Sherri or Philip. The one nobody in the right mind would vote out because she's the perfect person to sit next to at the end.

My opinion of Cass and Trish's intelligence just flipped. I thought Cass was smart, turns out she's just doing random stuff whenever the whim strikes her. I thought Trish was dumb, but she was the only one who noticed Cass as somebody who could be flipped.

It just sucks for Spencer and Tasha because they were both playing smart games. Their only mistake was trusting in Cass's intelligence.

Holy guacamole! These tribals are awesome, two idols flushed out, but not on purpose. Cass flipped alliences, that was stupid, her original alliance was strong. Spencer and Tasha must have been pissed. Now it's those two, coat tail rider Morgan and Jeremiah. Each tribal is even more interesting than the last. I can't wait to see who finds the new idols.

Morgan is fucking useless, but perhaps would have been ok to keep around because she's not even coming close to winning a million.

Why even bother going into Survivor with the sort of mindset she has, what a fool. I guess you need some eye candy, but still, when your strategy is to do nothing but lie around, not play the game and expect people to do things for you so you eventually don't even come close to winning the prize you're supposedly there for.......what a colossal waste of time. She must have nothing going on back at home.

I'd much rather the producers pick someone really willing to play the game instead of a vapid wallflower with big tits.

Some great moments in this episode though. I'm a big Spencer fan, so lots of highs and lows! First he's part of the winning reward challenge team, yay! Then he finds the idol clue, double yay! Then Woo steals said clue, not cool. Then he finds the idol! Then he wins immunity! But ultimately loses a member of his alliance.

Oh well. I thought it was a smart move for him not to reveal to anyone that he had the idol and not gamble with using it on anyone else's behalf. It's still early on and alliance fall apart, start to shift. I think Spencer's in a pretty solid place right now.

Also because I haven't posted yet, Kass is the WORST!!

Spencer throwing the idol on someone would have only been a good idea if his side were down by 1. Down by 2, he would have needed Kass to flip back for it to be a good idea, as he himself pointed out.

If I were Spencer right now I'd be thinking, the fewer people left on his side, the more likely the other side is to crack, so if I can get by another Tribal or two maybe I can slip into someone's coup.
