Surprises and Plot Twists

You know, speculating as to what surprise I want is kind of besides the point.

I want to be surprised without conditions.

In the context of the movie, it will either work or it won't. If it works well, I'm happy ;-)

I missed large chunks of Enterprise. We never learned who Future Guy was? Did that storyline just fizzle out?

Pretty much. The last time Future Guy was seen was at the end of season 2 where he revealed to Archer info about the Xindi and the Expanse. After that the TCW stroyline was essentially abandoned aside from Crewman Daniels popping up for the occassional cameo in S3 and then there was the Alien Nazi two parter of season 4 which saw the return of Silik the Suliban and ended the TCW. Future Guy's identity was never revealed and Braga eventually admitted that he never thought up an identity for Future Guy.

FG is too obscure to establish the main bad guy on.

But they don't have to establish the character as being FG. I just mean they may allude to FG in some way - perhaps his access to a time/communication device as scene on ENT - as an Easter egg for those who'll recognize the link.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'll boycott it if some connection to FG isn't included. I've had many preconceived ideas about what should happen in Trek not manifest and I've never let my being wrong become reason to hate Trek or its producers for not doing it "my" way like some do.

Exactly, Therin.

Neon signs pointing to the fact we're seeing a continuation or closure of the FG arc are not necessary but including that info, even subtly, for anyone paying close enough attention to find would be a nice touch.

The only Easter egg I want is one wearing a sombrero.
