Surely something good happened to you today

I just got out of the hospital after having surgery to remove an adrenal gland (I had an adrenal tumor that was elevating my blood pressure and doing other nasty things). The surgery went without a hitch and I'm feeling fine -- just need to rest and take it easy for the next few days.

BTW, UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital in Westwood has the best hospital food I've ever eaten. It's better than the food at some restaurants.
will the big ugly bill shut it down?

I certainly hope not. I'm fortunate to live within a stone's throw of two of the best hospitals in the U.S., the other being St. Johns in Santa Monica. I have no idea if my Medicare coverage will be affected.

Got another compliment on how young I look for my age today.
Took a deposit to the bank and it was the tellers birthday, so I asked how old she was turning and she said "Twenty eight."
I replied, "I'm turning 55 in a few weeks."
Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped and I smiled and said, "Yes. I still get mistaken for someone in their late thirties, early forties", and she said, "What's your secret?"
I shrugged and said "Good genes."

Meanwhile, I have been frequently stopped by complete strangers who ask if I'm ill or need assistance. One elderly woman asked me how long I'd been having chemotherapy.

There's nothing physically wrong with me but apparently I look like I'm at death's door. :vulcan:

Today marks 21 years I've been with my wife. I will definitely be calling today a good da

Happy anniversary!

I've been getting into autograph collecting again recently, and today I got one from trading with a guy in Delaware. I sent him one of Billie Piper from "Doctor Who", and he sent me this beautiful shot of Jodi-Lyn O'Keefe. :)
