Surely something good happened to you today

Saw my favorite horse two morning bike rides in a row, after not seeing her for weeks. She's a dark gold palomino mare, and it's so sweet because the moment she sees me, before I've even gotten off my bike, she comes over to the fence to say hi. I was with her for a while today, and she even swung her head over to my side of the fence for a few minutes, and gave me a little nose bump in my chest.

What, no students? :ouch::ouch::ouch:
FIFY I understand you're joking around, so I'm not mad.
I am a preschool teacher, and for seven years, I team taught and we had family helpers. If we didn't have a family helper, it wasn't a big deal. But this last year, we had lower enrollment and I had no co-teacher. And several days... I didn't have a helper. And then my boss had a health scare after her husband had a TIA. That left me alone in the building a few days with six little kids. And... it all started to take its toll.
In the second semester, I admittedly did not take losing a couple of students well because I felt I had failed. And I had two medical scares. The first was getting hit with the Norovirus. I went back to work when I thought I was okay, and then nearly passed out. I had a family helper that day, thank God, but what if I'd been alone with those kids and been passed out on the ground? The second was a medication screwup, but it didn't help my morale. After the Norovirus incident and a couple of students left, my mental health went down. It's taken a lot to feel halfway all right again.
Hearing that my boss was finally hiring someone was something I have desperately needed.

One of the horses who usually avoids me when I visit with her friend on my bike rides was over by the fence this morning, and she actually let me pet her. I think I can probably count on one hand the number of times she's let me do that.

Though this happened late last night, it was well past midnight, so this is technically today...

Someone showed me how to use the 'Ignore' feature here. (On the surface, that sounds like an awful thing to say. But before learning this feature, the only way I could get someone to leave me alone was to quote them and tell them to leave me alone, so this is a good thing. Plus, I look at any newly learned computer thing to be a victory.)

Many thanks to DaveyNY for showing me how to do this, and also to NCC-73515, Asbo Zaprudder, and Sindatur for helping me understand how it functions.
