Surely something good happened to you today

I found out that the United Club at SeaTac Airport opened at 4:15 AM. And yes, I was already there (I am perpetually early at airports).

W00t

Also, I have lately been free from the horrible sinus headaches I used to get when the plane descends. For awhile it was so bad that I almost cried out. But things seem to have calmed down.

I finally saw the three mares I like to say hi to on my bike rides for the first time in at least a couple weeks, and it was the first time in a while I saw all three at once. Although they weren't being quite friendly today as they have some of the other times I've seen them.

I heard from one of my cousins it has been a long time!

I did the photo tour at the TOS Set recreations in Ticonderoga. It was AMAZING. I could have turned around and done the whole thing again and spent the whole day in the sets. They set it up so well, you actually feel like you are walking onto the bridge of the Enterprise.

If you haven't been yet, and live within a few hours of it, DO IT.

I bought a full sized Tribble for myself and my friends kids as souviners, and mini tribbles to go in my nephews gifts when I see them for the first time in two years next month.

The good:

Another good day traveling. Ended with me reading a book at a bar before going back to try and get some sleep (maybe 7 hours combined the last couple nights) and I'm being told that the younger girl who came up to me to say she thought I was really intriguing for reading a book at a bar alone was definitely hitting on me, which I found preposterous at the time due to the obvious age gap and my natural social awkwardness (I use the apps for dating since becoming single again, have never randomly chatted up someone at a bar).

Have to try and frame that as ego boost and not missed opportunity

- Ole Miss won the College World Series! W00t!

- Yankees walked it off against the fucking Astros

My boss brought me raspberry sorbet! I was in the ER on Friday night, and have spent the weekend laying low.

Yeah. When I was down with the initial blow from COVID, she happily brought me my Starbucks orders too! When I had to head to the ER last year, she told me to call her if I needed something, because she lives fairly close. I work at a place where we look out for each other. It's pretty awesome.

a young scientist who worked on a project with me successfully defended his phd thesis today. I was able to listen in, as it was streamed by the university. Enjoyed every minute.

You're lucky, I've only had two jobs, but my first job went through several bosses, and they all ranged from indifferent to massive raging assholes.
