Surely something good happened to you today

Brake light on my car came on (the one that signals something wrong) but I only needed a little brake fluid, which is a LOT cheaper fix than I was fearing.

Got a small package from my best pal, who lives on the other side of the country. She's in very poor health--has very poor hearing, so she can't use the phone and can't walk due to illness that has damaged her spine; she has been incapacitated for years, but we email each other regularly. She sent me a package, saying she was sorry she missed my wedding anniversary (it was in March) and she wanted to send me a present. So I opened it and found a lovely birthday card (my birthday is in September). She wrote that she was itching to send me this present but needed an excuse, so she wrote Happy Anniversary on the box and put in a birthday card, where she wrote over the text of the card: To the strongest woman know, here is the other strongest woman I know."

It was a FunkoPop figure of Ruth Bader Ginsburg! :guffaw:

I love Little Ruth. I'm going to have to make room for her on my shelf. :bolian:

Had breakfast at my favorite breakfast place.

Went to church (online).

Binge-watched Blue Bloods on my new TV.

Drank gin and tonic.

Did I mention that I have a new computer now? It's a lot faster than the old one. Plus the keyboard is more responsive. With the old one, you had to push harder on some keys or the letters would not appear. I bought a new laser printer too. It's (according to the add) the smallest laser printer of the world!! The installation was child's play. The computer has a functional vocal interface. (I can get an article from Wikipedia just by asking). I was afraid that I wouldn't like windows 10 but so far, so good.

I had a huge hate period with Windows 10 but now love it. I didn't think I'd use speech at all but find that it's fun and easy. Try asking Cortana silly questions and see what she does. I've had fun with that. She responds to things like.

Sing me a song
Tell me a poem
Will you marry me

There's a ton more you can ask her and her responses are funny.

Holy crap, I'm tired but I got a lot done today. Went into Junior 's room and pulled out his hooded litter box and the long plastic "tray" it sits in. Emptied it all out, took it outside and scrubbed it all down & rinsed it out with the garden hose. Then vacuumed out his room and washed his kitty bed. Threw out all the "used" litter and then put his litter box back-- ready for business with fresh litter. Then took a shower because....GROSS. Also got the mail, polished the banister, took out the trash and the recycling. Then I gave Junior his flea meds drops..the kind you rub on the back of the cat's neck.

Now my neck & back hurt. But I got a lot done, so I feel good about that.

I actually found the knitting pattern I was looking for! That's amazing in all the stuff I've accumulated over the years.

After being furloughed then let go from my job three months ago due to the corona-virus, the company I applied to and interviewed for last Tuesday called today to say I've got the job and start tomorrow at 8am. Thankful because so many others are out there looking for work.

Wonderful! I'm down to two days a week with my job but it's good enough for now.

Congrats on the new job!

Hubby is finally coming around to the idea of fixing up the house. We visited three different flooring stores today, and got good ideas of what things will cost if we decide to replace the downstairs carpet.

I was watering my plants today and a little orange butterfly flew out of some flowers and landed on my right (face) cheek. Then it gave me a kiss! Ok, it was probably slurping up the sweat on my face, but I'm claiming a kiss! This made my day!
