I decorated the yard for Christmas today. I really really didn't feel like it. It was all worth it when a mother and her 2 little daughters walked by and oohed and aahed and told me that they really liked it.

Yesterday, I taught the boy my bacon pasta recipe. He’s getting good.
I committed myself to writing a different novel and the ink just fell right out the pen and in to chapter one. That never happens. Chapter ones are bastards.
My wife reminded me that, if necessary, we could survive on one income. It wouldn’t be fun, but what a woman. That’s one Olympus Mons worth of weight off my shoulders. And she booked a holiday.
And just now, wife showed me a picture of a cat licking a rainbow ice thing and a corgi dressed as a long boat.

It seems a few of us are having a shitty time at the moment and I for one will take any small joy I can.
Today, someone I wanted to avoid didn’t answer the call that I had to make. Bagging that as a win.

It depends where I am. If I can help it, I prefer to type directly, but otherwise, I have a nice Parker fountain pen.
I had a nice talk with my roomie tonight
Had my shift cut in half-- so instead of working 8.5 hrs, I'd only get 4.5 hrs. That happens all the time and is really annoying...but today, we only had to do clean-up, so I worked only an hour and a half. Most of that was spent sitting and waiting. So I got paid for 4.5 hours for doing fuck-all. Not bad.

Survived my first day taking steroids. My back aches--side effect, I suppose -- but my neck already feels better.
Although, it's 1 am and I'm wide awake. Luckily, I can sleep in as late as I want.

Last night, the wife was out on her Xmas staff meal. The kids went to bed nice and early and I had two hours of peace, with the sofa and a fleece to myself, with a few glasses of wine and some Alaskan offgridders on the telly. Bliss.
