Had planned on going to see The Suicide Squad at the drive-in for my birthday; unfortunately they're not showing it. (Snake Eyes and Jungle Cruise) My friend is renting an outdoor projection screen and is setting it up in her backyard for the two of us to watch on HBOMax.

My favorite son cooked us a nice chicken in wine sauce dinner.

Still feels so new and great to walk to the library and be able to go in and look around! Missed it so much!!

My second vaccination dose takes full effect today.
Also, my dental hygiene appointment has led to neither new work nor replacement of existing work.

I got my hair cut. A big deal because it has been very hard to find someone. Many places where we live have only one person and they are not open much. So I found a place and she did a great job! I am so happy!!

Finally got confirmation from OPM that I'm eligible for a survivor's benefit. Finally, 4 months after my husband passed.

Speaking of hair, mine has been almost completely gray (well, more white than gray) for several years now. I finally decided to use that Touch of Gray stuff -- the only men's hair color product my barber recommends -- and I'm quite pleased with the results. The color looks natural, and my hair looks just like it did thirty years ago!

I was feeling lonely and my cat just jumped in my lap while I was at the computer. She hardly ever does that. It is like she knew I needed a cat in my lap!

After driving nearly 1000 miles (each way), I woke up in my own bed this morning. So happy to be home.

Woke up super early to preorder my iPhone 13 and got it!

Also, right now I can still preorder it from my provider, so why the heck did I wake up super early?!?!?!?!

Out of the ten stores in our district, only ours showed any sales growth from July to August; up 28%.
The other nine stores had neutral or negative sales, due in part to ongoing concerns about COVID.

Saw COME FROM AWAY for the fifth time.

I’ve seen it three times in Toronto, and this was my second on Broadway.

Sadly, unlike last time, Jenn Colella wasn’t there. But there will be another day….

I am home and after over 2 weeks away, it is just great to be home. And everything is just the way I left it. Sleeping in my own bed again and watching my tv and laying on the couch, and don't forget the fridge. Yeah, nice to travel, but so good to be home!!

It is a very wet day. So went to visit my mom and watched movies and had candy and popcorn!

Watched both CSI Vegas and OC and they were both good.

Got a text from my 12 yr old granddaughter that said that she misses me and loves me. Life is so good.

We have had non stop rain for days and days. Flooding is everywhere! State of Emergency is in effect in many places in our area. Mix the pouring non stop rain with high winds: trees down, mud slides, flooding. power down in many places.Yipe! We are okay our house is on high ground. If we flood then it really would be Ark time. No kidding. My husband was out in all that flooding in our car coming home from work and didn't get home for 6 hours waiting for the highways to be clear enough, or a route to be clear. It was scary and wow, no words. He made it home okay. So happy about that!

There's actually WORK being done in my basement! For the first time in like three fucking weeks!

Two good things actually happened today! A brief respite and counterpoint to the 1287 bad things that have happened over the last two weeks.

1. A random stranger started talking to me in a waiting room, and after a bit of hesitation, I was actually able to carry on a small, mostly-intelligible conversation. I know most of you are probably thinking "yeah, so?", but give me my small victories!

2. Medical person asked me to confirm my identity a second time. I did so, but must have appeared confused or something, because she explained, "you don't look <age on documentation>, so I just wanted to make sure I had the right person". Congratulations, you're now officially my favourite person here!
