Suranne Jones/Neil Gaiman episode (spoilers?)

Sorry to ressurect this after two months, but a teaser summary of this episode has been released by the BBC:

The Doctor receives a distress signal from an old friend. Could there really be another living Time Lord out there? Hopes raised, he follows the signal to a junkyard planet sitting upon a mysterious asteroid in a Bubble universe, populated by a very strange family, as the time-travelling drama continues.

The Doctor, Amy and Rory are given the warmest of welcomes by Auntie, Uncle and Nephew. But the beautiful and insane Idris greets them in a more unusual fashion – what is she trying to tell the Doctor? As the Doctor investigates, he unwittingly puts his friends in the gravest danger.

The Doctor is played by Matt Smith, Amy by Karen Gillan, Rory by Arthur Darvill and Idris by Suranne Jones.

Also possible spoiler speculation

So it could be another Time Lord/Lady, although it could also be a humanized TARDIS as some have speculated. Last time we saw Romana she was in another universe, interestingly enough. Also the bit about Idris being insane-maybe her adventures didn't work out as planned, she regenerated a few times and went nuts, possibly because she sensed all the other Time Lords were dead? The war did effect the Doctor and the Master somewhat, with The Ninth being somewhat traumatized and the Master being so scared he turned into a human. And of course Rassilon and the others became sort of crazy too.

Idris is going to be either a (the) TARDIS or...

or else she's who the little girl from the spacesuit regenerates into at the end of Day of The Moon - we don't see who she becomes in that episode, so maybe this is where we find out.

Idris is Rose regerenated.

*Ducks and runs*
*gets pitchforks and torches*

Surprisingly, I don't want Idris to be Romana because the implication would be she's been in E-Space all this time (or in transition from), which would mean all the adventures she had in Big Finish would have happened. Nitpicky, I know, but there it is.

Why? Where Series 3 of the Gallifrey Adventures leaves off, it's altogether believable she may, at some point, in the strife leave Gallifrey. IS Series 4 released and contradicts this possibility in some way?

Actually...

In some way you could say it works in favor because Romana and company spend the series visiting a variety of alternate universes and the series ends with them stuck in one of them.

Yes they do

The new DWM has reached some subscribers early and confirms that the someone/something not seen since The War Games is indeed...

the Time Lord message cube. Sorry War Chief/Lord fans!

I'm reviving this thread from a few weeks back just for fun because of all the speculation over who Idris was going to be: The Master, the little girl from Day of the Moon, The Rani, Romana, Susan, The War Chief. ;)

If Stan Lee will forgive me stealing his shtick, I'll accept the No-Prize for being the first in the thread to guess correctly the NATURE of Idris' character. While Lonemagpie takes the Gold-Plated No Prize for being the only contributor to the thread to nail it!
