Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do it!

At first I was just going to do it for the mod's. I was thinking of the other day about how cops, when they shoot a perp, they usually have to go get thearpy afterwards. It's I think a regulation in most police forces.

If killing a person can cause trama then i can only image how bad it must be to kill a thread! :) I had a thread closed recently and I can only imagine the horror that the poor mod had to endure. Not being able to sleep at night. Exessive amounts of alcohol to continue on the job. Perhaps even thoughts of turning in his badge and gun. I asume mod's are given a badge a gun when there giving the job as a mod.

I wanted to expand it thought for those who have had threads closed, because we all know the 3 emotional steps of being a victim of thread closing.

1 First step is denial. You don't understand why your thread has a x to it. You did nothing wrong! There must be a mistake!

2 anger=How dare they! I am living the trekbbs forever! That wil lteach them! I will start my own trek message board and it will be the most popular one on the internet!

3 acceptance=Meh it was just one thread. Who cares in the long run. Especially since I just got another idea for a thread!

Still with a suuport group we could help people transition through the 3 stages of thread closing, more smoothly!

Best Jason thread ever! :guffaw:

Your best effort yet, Jayson....

I want SPOCKED to close this thread now, just for the lulz.

... I can only imagine the horror that the poor mod had to endure....Exessive amounts of alcohol to continue on the job.

Bonz ensures all mods already drink excessive amounts of alcohol prior to starting the job, which both numbs the pain and shortens the recovery phase.

Perhaps even thoughts of turning in his badge and gun. I asume mod's are given a badge a gun when there giving the job as a mod

Old mods don't die, they just fade away to quieter forums... ;)

Everyone needs to talk about your trama, if you ever want to get over it!

I am hear to help you! Let Jason, take your pain away!

You forgot the bargaining and depression stages after anger. :D

3 bargaining=thread in MA

4 depression=goodbye thread "I'm leaving and I'm never coming back"

Re: Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do

Come on people! This thread is genius! We need to have all the mods in here posting about their PTSD after thread closures - let the healing begin!

Re: Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do

What PTSD? I'm positively gleeful every time I close a thread. Of course, I also eat kittens if you believe some of those old MA threads. :shifty:

But it's denial! You only think you enjoy closing threads. I want you to hug me and think of the threads you have closed, and then tell me you enjoyed closing them! :)

It really is terrible beyond description. First, it was nightmares, but after a while they got so horrific that I was too afraid to go to sleep. Send more alcohol, pls.

Badges?! We don't need no stinkin' badges!

But I'm not turning the gun in.

Ever.

Every time I have to close one of your threads, Jayson, it's like my own personal Vietnam. You're my Colonel Kurtz, man. The horror... the horror...

WOW. I made it in before the lock!

But, seriously, what DOES possess a person to become a mod in the first place? The fast cars, the women, the madness of TNZ?
What drives a person to Mod-dom? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of thread closures?

Re: Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do

I am surprised "Help me start a war in Ukraine" and "Held captive as a sex slave", aren't your threads.

I was wondering why no one else was posting in the thread for a while, until I realized that it probably looked like I was going to close it down.

But I think Jayson has succeeded on the quality vs quantity ratio with this thread. Mainly because he mentioned the mods, and we're total attention whores.

For me it was all about the cheap and abundant access to black market kidneys, but others had less altruistic motives.

Old MA threads? I'm sure there are some current threads that you're suppressing which provide proof not only of your kitten-eating tendencies but also of your obsession with Hello Kitty.

I resent this remark. I'm an attention pimp. I co-ordinate the attention whoring for my greater amusement & profit.

Buried somewhere down deep in the basement of the BBS, there are incriminating photos of the kittens and rabbits he uses as ammunition for his catapult.:shifty:

Re: Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do

My threads are failures....the only one who posts in my threads are me...and then I have to hear it because I'm responding to myself. But there ain't no respondin' like your own....I mean I know exactly what I want to hear!! LOL

Re: Support group for those with threads closed or mod's who had to do

It's been a while now, since Lisa departed this board, and I gather no-one has seen or heard from Christian, so I guess it's safe to confess this now:

Many, many years ago, 2003 I think, I was happily making war in misc. It was the all-powering, all-overcoming  party that was in it's ascendancy. Those of you who remember those times will recall there were several parties claiming the throne to the crown, and those who were there will recall that the successful ones were granted moderatorship. Me, Partsking, and a couple of others. I think Jethro was involved, but my memory of those times is a bit hazy.

Why would the mighty Lisa do that, I hear you asking?

Well, it's a simple technique that I gather T'Bonz has no time for. Waterboarding.

From her lair (we never found of where it was) she tortured us for months beforehand. All those names spamming it up in misc (kor was the most notable, but there was also Blooded and his fanclub, Kass, mrcoaster but to name but a few) were simple computers responding to a few well constructed routines. The real people were being held in a cave somewhere near Glastonbury (where we were drugged in the first place!) and waterboarded until we told her everything.

She then reprogrammed our minds. To this day, I think she still looks like this: Picture.

The programming held longer for others, but I got free quite quickly. For Partsking, he couldn't quite let go and had to set up a BBS for himself, as a sort of healing process.

Kor, of course, was never seen again. Mind you, he never made moderator, as Lisa thought he was too powerful for her to control. She probably banished him to some other unseemly world (maybe, she sent him back into reality??? )

Anyway, that's the truth. As I recall it, once I get past the memory blockers.
