Yes, it's time for this week's episode thread for SPN. Yea! I still have to be in training this evening for my new job. Boo!!! :scream: What's worse, my DVR is messing up so I have to wait until the weekend to view it on youtube. Boooooo!!! Waaaaaa!!! :(

Should be a good one. Bradasshole from Rocky Horror Picture Show has a guest spot. :techman: At least Barry Bostwick does. Have fun, watch, and enjoy.

This will be my first time watching an episode of the show with all the other Supernatural fans, I just watched episode 410 and 411 last night after spending the last month watching the DVDs (and 720p downloads of season four). Can't wait!

Welcome one, welcome all. Yeah, it should be a cool ep. What I like best about SPN is that they do act like guys in spite of all the angst. They don't act like how women think men act. Some of the girl fans are always bitching and moaning, "But Sam/Dean didn't hug him or say anything when his brother was suffering, etc. blah blah blah..."  It took a brother being resurrected from the bowels of hell to get a mutual hug going there. A one sided hug in season two, another in season three, and finally a real hug in season four. It took four years.

So what is the general consensus on the fourth season?

I have to say, for the first time I am enjoying the more story oriented episodes just as much as the stand alone "Monster of the Week" (to borrow a phrase from The X-Files) episodes.

The main reason I am enjoying the current Angels & Demons plotline is because it seems to involve Dean so heavily whereas in past seasons it seemed to revolve around what Sam was gonna do. And I'm a Dean guy, heh.

Hey, even I have wanted to see a little more touching between Sam and Dean(not that way damn it, though Jared and Jensen hell yeah!!). But as a guy (though gay) my brother hugged me for the first time this year, and I was like what the hell am I supposed to do. I just stood there all dumb founded. I honestly didn't know what to do.

God damn DVR.... :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: Yes, I have to wait until the weekend again. Sounds like a keeper of an episode. Even some of the pathological TWOP Supernatural psychos seemed to like it. Of course there's the usual whining that Sam and Dean aren't getting 100 percent of the screen time.

Many brothers or male friends hug all the time while others don't.

I'm interested in seeing what the consensus is on this one. I'm almost up to date. I just finished "In the Beginning." I'll watch a couple more either tomorrow or Saturday.

Wow. :( Barry Bostwick broke my heart in this. He was excellent as Jay. Many people come to such sad ends in lifea--no family, broken dreams. It's a sad reality. Was that the PI from "House" who played young Charlie?

Hee hee hee  I loved that the old guys made Dean and Sam as liars right away and sent Dean to see the chief. Too funny. People are so quick to believe the both of them because they have pretty faces. It tickled me that the old guys weren't fooled. Is he wearing eyeliner? What a douche bag. :guffaw:

What a depressing episode, though. Dean has so little hope for his future, and Sam's getting sucked right back in again. Ruby's manipulating him but good. Preying on fears of being alone, without his brother. I love how stark it gets, not pretend starkness a la Buffy. It hits you in the gut.

Now that is how you tell a stand alone and tie it into your mythology.

Great work from the guest cast on this one, across the board.

And I love the atmosphere on this episode, even more then last week. Not only in physical atmosphere but emotional as well.

Even Ruby was better then usual (I just wish that either the actress had more range). I think she handled the confrontation scene with Sam, well enough. But I didn't feel anything from the closing moments with her.

And I am almost scared to know what Sam really is doing to get his "Juice".

Overall the best standalone of the season (even if they are still very connected to the mytharc of the) show.

Really the only part of this episode I didn't like, is how they handled their arrest by the police. That was the only thing that didn't ring true to me. After all even them being booked (which they had time for) should bring them back up on America's most wanted. Something they both should show far, far greater concern for.

Very gad to see that you got to watch it. Hell I know I would freak even missing Route 666 (but we're insane), but on a good episode it sucks. I am trying to remember the last episode my station didn't broadcast (for whatever reason), and it drove me nuts.

Love this week so far with shows, first Lost, now this and I have high hopes for BSG (which I loved last week).

And isn't it nice seeing all the new comers posting here and their this season.

And I never did get to give a shout out on pifeedback. How I loved those Monday and Tuesday ratings. A 1.0 in 18-49 (he,he) and for them a 1.3 adult 18-34 (:guffaw::evil: ). Too bad about One Tree Hill, my personal punching bag, but hell they still don't get much pr love from the CW either so I will cut them a little slack).

Oh, Gossip Girl getting a lowly 1.3 in their precious 18-34 demo against House is classic. They're always touting that high "young female" demo from Gossip Girl. My my my my my.....I guess young women prefer Hugh Laurie to the teenaged nymphets and horn dogs. No surprise there. House has consistently scored in the top five in the college aged demo. One Tree Hill didn't fare much better in the demo or in total viewers later that night. Hee hee hee.

I rewatched a little bit of the eppy this morning (savoring the fact that I can, I suppose. My neighbor taught me how to program my DVR right, yea!!!!). No more problems recording. I'm still very impressed by how bleakly it portrayed the lives of hunters and of people who end up alone. It can be hard to grow older if you have no support and your sense of esteem came from celebrity. There's always something newer and shinier coming along. This was a new writer for the show, a female I believe. She impressed. Oh Sam, Sam, Sam, you are going to hell on that paved road.

Oh my, I guess the 18-34 crowd isn't that stupid after all. Funny how all of these ansty-teen type shows last three seasons or less (The OC).

As much as I give them (both of the soaps) hell. I do feel for them. You realize this is exactly what happened when Supernatural moved from Tuesday to Thursday. We took a huge hit. Both in total viewers (over a million) and in demo's (especially women and young women, thanks Grey's). And we never recovered from it.
