Supernatural Season 2

Starbreaker

Fleet Admiral

Just finished up watching the first half of Season 2. I've fallen in love with this show. One of the major differences from this season from the last is that the viewer is actually given enough time to figure out the mystery of what the demon or spirit wants instead of just flat out revealing the mystery in the first 5 minutes by having Dean or Sam read out of the book, and then hunting it.

2x01 In My Time of Dying was great. The out of body experience thing was pulled off very well. Having John die was something that I didn't expect so early, but certainly adds a new dynamic to the relationship of the brothers.

2x02 Everybody Loves of Clown - I don't normally find clowns creepy. When the kid shows up at the foot of the parents' bed holding the clown's hand, I got chills. I think the Harvelles are excellent characters. I've read that a lot of people didn't like Jo, but I do.

2x03 Bloodlust - much better than the last vampire episode, and I like the moral questions that are raised in this episode. I know we see Gordon at least one more time after this episode, but I'm curious to see if he shows up for revenge later.

2x04 Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things - probably the weakest episode of the first half, but I still liked it.

2x05 Simon Said - and the plot thickens. Sam and his psychic abilities are what keep me watching the show at a marathon pace right now.

2x06 No Exit - one of my favorite episodes from the first 32 episodes of so. It's simple, but I really liked seeing Dean, Sam, and Jo walking through the walls.

2x07 The Usual Suspects - I liked Linda Blair in this one, and the twist at the end was good. I was starting to wonder how they were going to get out of their predicament.

2x08 Crossroad Blues - this was one I didn't really care for until the demon came into play at the end and started bargaining with Dean.

2x09 Croatoan - not very good at all until the last 5 minutes. I did not see the twist of Dean being tested to see if he was immune to the virus or not.

2x10 Hunted - I like the character of Ava and I'm REALLY getting desperate to find out what all this stuff about Azazel is.

2x11 Playthings - Just one word: "Antiquers"

I just started watching 'Supernatural' the other day since all my shows are finished for the Summer. I'm about a third of the way through the first season and enjoying it so far.

There's a genuine brotherly dynamic between Sam and Dean, and I could easily see them being brothers in real life from the way they interact with each other. The humorous jabs between them are realistic and fun as well.

I was a little skeptical about continuing with the show after about half of the first season, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's awesome.

You prove my point that more casual fans who come to the show tend to like different episodes than the hardcore fans who follow it online. Many, many of them hated Roadkill. Can you believe it?

Ackles and Padalecki are very close in real life.

Glad you are enjoying the show. In my opinion it only gets better. The 4th season in particular is outstanding.

I love this show... but I only watch it on DVD, heh. I don't think I've ever sat down to watch an aired episode since the first season. It just plays extremely well on DVD. There aren't too many shows I'll marathon through, but "Supernatural" is on that list.

I've just finished a marathon run of Supernatural from the beginning to the finale of the current season. It's fantastic and somewhat unique in that it follows the X-Files formula but focuses (obviously) on supernatural phenomena instead.

The Winchesters have great chemistry with one another, each being very different. The myth arc is consistently good, but I'm hoping the sixth season returns to some of the monster-of-the-week episodes as they become less prominent in the fourth/fifth seasons.
