Spoilers Supernatural - Season 12

The first thing that came to my mind when I read about the Scooby Doo crossover is "Does this mean Loki is back?"

I had that same thought, but I am confident Gabriel is dead. That last appearance of him a few seasons back looked like it was the work of Metatron, though not confirmed.

At the very least, it looks like a sort of a continuation of the idea behind season 8's "HUNTERI HEROICI", which I loved.

I hope that Crowley and Castiel are dead for real. The whole angels and demons thing is really played out. If they stay dead they won't have to revisit that stuff much if at all. They can always use the alternate reality versions of them once Sam and Dean find away to get their Mom back. I was shocked to see Bobby back. I had no idea Jim Beaver was returning at all.

A trickerster was described as a type of god in his first appearance IIRC, so there could be more then one.

I wonder if that other universe now has two Lucifers.

I'm glad Crowley is dead, and I hope they don't bring him back. He was a great character played by a great actor, but there's really nothing else for him to do.

I do hope Castiel comes back, though, because I think there's still some story-potential for him.

So, in Apocalypse-Verse, there could possibly be two Lucys now; that would make for a very interesting fight--or maybe they would team up and become besties.

Wow. I've only seen the first half. Apparently the second half is very busy.....

Okay, that was eventful-- mostly in the last half hour or so.

I've been worried-- or more like fatalistically expecting-- that May would die at season's end, so I was quite encouraged by the ending of the first episode. May is saved and reunited with the boys. Psycho chick, Ketch, and Margaret Thatcher are all dead at the hands of Ketch, Mary, and Sheriff Jody respectively. Now we can move on to Lucifer. But things did not go so well in part two.

Okay, so Mary's not dead, which means there is still hope. But the last time we saw her she was upon to be sprang upon by a thoroughly enraged Lucifer after she pounded him back through the wormhole with magical brass knuckles, trapping him in the Post-Apocalyptic Mirror Universe. That's a hell of a cliffhanger all by itself. If she's going to survive, something drastic will have to happen in the next half second. I'm guessing that Mirror Lucifer will intervene. I guess it really depends on if they actually want Mary to continue on the show.

And we got to see Mirror Bobby, looking like Khan on Ceti Alpha V. Man, I love Bobby, in all universes. :D

And then there's Crowley. Even before that re-humanizing ritual a couple of years ago, he was pretty soft hearted for the King of Hell-- he's been called on it many times, and he's tried to prove it's not true, but now he's finally owned up to it. He threw his lot in with the boys in flannel, admitted he wasn't interested in ruling Hell, and even offered to close the gates permanently. And then ultimately gave his own life to defeat Lucifer. A nice ending for the character if he's really done, but I hope he does find a way to come back.

Castiel, on the other hand, I'm pretty positive will come back. He's like Captain Scarlet. It doesn't matter how many times he dies, he somehow manages to recover no matter what. Undoubtedly it will have something to do with the new kid on the block.

Speaking of which, he's kind of creepy, sitting there in the corner in the dark like that. But I have a feeling that he will not be evil, as Lucifer hoped and expected, but probably not as good as Castiel believed-- he's going to be trouble, but the question is what kind of trouble?

So, sort of a baby Gabriel then?

That's a shame, given the character twist at the end of this season.

I wonder where a crossroads demon who used to be human and got promoted to king of hell goes when he dies in another dimension.

Unfortunately, it looks like there is some bad blood between Mark Sheppard and the (new, crappy showrunners) over hit character, the show's writing, the way he was treated, etc.... and it looks like Rowena was written off and killed off screen as collateral damage for whats going on with Crowley. There has been a lot of sniping on Twitter and what not.

Sucks.

And not sure how Cas can come back from being stabbed by an angel blade...... so the chances are we get Alt Cas next year.

I could totally have seen Crowley changing the status quo of his character, but this isn't plot related as far as I can tell; just behind the scenes junk....

Lots of pointless deaths, bad writing.... I hate to say it, but the show should have just ended last year With God and Mara, and the family reuinted , with a Happy Ending. All it needed was a single JDM cameo. Then end the show, and start the 2nd season of Constantine.

I think Dean would be more of a threat to the Scooby snacks than Crowley.

I haven't been watching this season but I'd have to tune in to that episode. They'd probably mesh well with the recent "Mystery Incorporated" version of Scooby Doo but I imagine they will go with a classic take on the gang. I'm pretty confident that Scrappy would not escape unscathed if included. Personally, I think it'd be better to have the boys meet a live-action version of the Scooby gang.

Mystery Inc was great. Best Scooby Doo series / story ever made. I definitely love the idea of the animated version, though.... like a new episode of the New Scooby Doo Movies (where they met famous people every week.)

Although, it may have worked if they introduced a group of young hunters that drive around in a hippy van..... like their own take on things, rather then a straight up crossover. In the early seasons, I was really hoping for Gordon to use his Vampire powers and hatred for vamps to become their own in house version of Blade, and I always wanted the Ghost Facers to shack up in an abandoned firehouse someplace. A take on the scooby doo gang in this vein could have worked.

...and, yes, shit finally goes down. Now we know where all this BMOL stuff is headed. Liked the backstory that was long overdue, but the result was a bit predictable. Still, I didn't expect it to happen so abruptly.

I'm wondering if they changed direction on the story in the past year..... like they were set up with more sympathies, or something. Not sure they were ever meant to be the biggest bads that they ended up being. This show has a habit of changing up storylines midway, anyways....

There's a multi-qoute function so you don't have to spam threads with multiple posts.

All over Sheppard's twitter, and quite a topic of discussion in the fan community, apparently. I'll see if I can find links.

Also was their some contract issue or personal problem with the actress who played Rowena? Killing her offscreen seems like a weird way to end that character.

I just took that as part of the "kill all the mothers" theme, as per Mary and Kelly. (Thankfully they avoided it with Jodie or else there'd have been riots.) Just showing her dead body avoided them having to pay money for the guest performer.

But when even seeing the death doesn't mean they won't come back, this may not mean anything in the long run.

I had heard the other side via blind items - that Sheppard was getting too big for his boots and thinking he was responsible for the show's continued success, so they canned him for his arrogance. I suppose both sides could be equally true, or neither.

^^^ That's the spin-off they should have tried in the first place.

Use characters people actually care about, not complete randoms we've never seen before.
