Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoilerish

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

Sam's not a pussy. He's too power hungry to be a pussy. Man's an animal in bed, too. That must be why all the demon chicks want a piece of ass from him. I'll be in my bunk.

You misunderstood the context. Basically, I was saying what you did above, I just didn't use 'Renaissance man' to do it.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

I know. I just felt like pointing out that he's got the body of a Greek god even though he's a pussy.

EDIT: Lest anyone think I don't adore my sweet ginormotron baboo

Who can blame those demon girls for wanting a piece of that?

I still find it hard to believe that the scrawny emo kid with the bad hair could have turned into...well, that. Must have been all the demon blood.

And I've had Sam pegged as Lucifer's vessel for a couple years now--well, to be more precise, I guessed that Lucifer would probably play a role at the end of the series and wind up possessing Sam, back before the angels became prominent and we learned about vessels and how they work. I never would have guessed Dean would be the vessel for Michael, though; I was always kind of hoping he'd just remain a regular ol' human. Oh well.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

It was hinted (very slightly) above Dean/Michael back in the 2nd season. When they first touched upon the ideas of if "angels' do actually exist.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

I remember the Dean/Michael comparison. When the priest described Michael, he could have been describing Dean.

Damn, if Padalecki were the star of another CW show, they'd have him naked all the time. Sorry, I love my picture. I rewatched the eppy. I still think it was a little unevenly paced, but Jared did a good job with his material. Very good, IMO.

See, I don't remember that at all. I'll have to go back and check it out. :techman:

It was blink and you would miss it. But I am how shall we say it, Oh stalker crazy for this show.

And out of 85 episodes we have had a total of four episodes with Jared not wearing a shirt. Are we sure this is on the CW.

The show must be carrying around a hex bag to hide itself from Dawn Ostroff.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

I believe that lovely still is from a deleted scene in this last episode where Sam is getting ready to take Lindsey to bed.

A hex bag to hide from Ostroff. Hee. Indeed. She must still scratch her head about them not getting naked and the show still succeeding. Doesn't compute with the teen soap and slut formula. Plus, like....one of those Winchester guys is over 30.

Norman, coordinate.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

No doubt Sammy is built. But too much naked Sam would kill my concentration for anything else going on.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

I watched this show on the CW web site... thinking maybe I should stop watching since I haven't watched about 75 of the episodes. Is bartender chick coming back after all she's seen? Or does Sam have to walk to another town now with the sad Incredible Hulk music playing?

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

Another average outing, but I still like the characters (except Bobby, he can just die now).

So ep522 is gonna be Sam Vs Dean in the ultimate battle between blah blah blah... How unoriginal. Usually the characters face the danger, but now they are the danger.

Glad this is the final season. I think the rock has squeezed enough blood from this... er... Zen garden...?

Neither Sam nor Dean are weak-willed enough to become a vessel.

This episode actually hinted at quite a lot. The biggest hint being that there is more than one viable vessel for such powerful entities and if Lucifer can secure one, Michael should be able to, too. Once Lucy and Mikey discover that they're not going to be able to get their preferred skinrides, they're just going to have to rely on someone else... which, coincidently, will also keep their power levels down since, as Lucifer stated, his current vessel is just barely containing him.

So not only is this season going to show us just how strong the Winchester boys are, it's also going to keep Lucifer and Michael's power levels in check and reasonable for the budget the series has available to it. If either of them get to roam the world at full power, there's no point in even bothering with the Winchesters or anyone else. So it's just not going to happen. Especially since doing so will leave the boys as vegetables.

But seeing that all come to fruition along with dealing with the Apocalypse will certainly be entertaining.

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

On a related note, why exactly does Michael need a vessel to fight Lucifer? I can Lucifer needing one as part of his requirements to escape his prison, but why Michael? The archangel that was defending Chuck certainly didn't seem to need one to vanquish any threats that befell him, mortal or otherwise. So why does Michael need one now?

Re: Supernatural 5x3 "Free to Be You and Me" discussion thread/spoiler

Because Lucifer will have a vessel. Angels need a vessel to wreak havoc on an individual level. Angels need vessels. As Azazel once said, "them's the rules." Red tape.

Candlelight, candlelight, Sam and Dean aren't going to end up being the vessels. Kripke's not that predictable. Something else is in store. It's all about the brotherly bond being rebuilt this season.....but the fact that some believe otherwise shows that Kripke doesn't always go to the expected place.

Or does Sam have to walk to another town now with the sad Incredible Hulk music playing?
No, Sammy isn't going to go from town to town, you silly. He'll be back with Dean soon enough. Don't miss this week. Everyone who wanted the big time war carnage will be happy. Ben Edlund wrote it. In addition to being a psychotic comic genius, Edlund has written some of the most serious (and successful) episodes of the series, with On the Head of a Pin (Dean torturing Alistair) and Nightshifter being the two best examples.

BTW, here's a clip from this week's ep before it goes all serious on us. Gods, Misha Collins is hysterical.

Candlelight

It's funny some people are going to complain that Dean and Sam aren't going to be going after each other as teh two focal points. They will say its too predictable that they manage to escape that? So its a loose, loose.

I stated I think early last year that I thought the brothers would (to use a nice scifi example on a Trekbbs0 do the Babylon 5 route. With the Shadows and the Vorlons fighting it out trying to get them (Sam and Dean) to represent them, yet it will be Sam and Dean that somehow find the other path to stop the battle.

This is of course, opinion, but it is the way I see it.

Sorry you aren't enjoying it more, though like Dorian I have strong hope for the next episode.

And while I believe Sam & Dean are at some point together (probably not the way Dean would like) next episode (I don't actually know just a hunch). The press release for episode 5 shows that they are. So it won't be long.

I am really surprised that you are over Bobby, though. I think I can understand every other point, but man I love Bobby. Though I do understand, in some ways I had hoped that Bobby would die last season Not because I don't like the character, I do. But to keep the fine tradition of how dangerous the world they live is. And to show that no one is truly safe.

"The voice says I am almost out of minutes". When I saw that this weekend I was rolling.

Oh, and Dean on Dean action (Yummy).

Some of this fandom just wants to complain, period. They'll complain if Dean and Sam do go after each other. Others will complain if they don't. Others avoid the chaos and are quietly riveted. That's me. I'm so invested in the characters (by far its greatest strength) that I can't wait to see the story play out. Just think--a shapeshifter could have killed one of them, morphed into him, been implanted with his memories, and we'd have been forced to watch the ineptly written non fall out. Now that would suck.

They'll find God and he'll put a stop to all of the Angel and Demon silliness and Sam and Dean will drive off into the sunset. That's what I think.

They'll discover that God is, in fact, the Impala. They've been riding around with Him this whole time!
