Supernatural 5x14 "My Bloody Valentine" spoiler/discussion thread

I think this is sound reasoning. It explains why Dean (and we assume Sam) would be still safe if Lucifer or Michael left them after possessing them. Ie no ill effects on them.
No, that entire line from Michael was just some flat-out serious backpeddling by the writers. It was made abundantly clear that anyone an archangel (which includes Lucifer) possessed would be left a drooling meatsack after the fact. But even non-perfect vessels can easily survive the process now, as shown by John Winchester's possession by Michael where -- apparently -- it's entirely up to the archangel.

In Michael's case, I think it was a matter of finesse. It wasn't just that he chose to keep John safe, it's that he's the only one with sufficient skill to do so and he didn't have to tax himself. Anna was nothing to him, little more than in insect. He had no need to channel the full extent of his power. Against Lucifer, he wouldn't be able to hold back.

That was one of the more disturbing starts to the show we've had.. the thought of that was raher disgusting.. lol

Overall a decent episode. Nothing spectacular though...

Except he told Dean he'd do the same for him if he agreed. Which is completely contradictory to the introduction of that fact to begin with (which was to warn Dean of what would happen if Michael possessed him).

Leave it to Supernatural to have such a... disturbing... opening for Valentines Day.
Great ep.

Yeah, that one gave me some shivers.

I was grateful not to see anyone slammed and pressed against a wall by unseen powers.

Castiel's "I'm going to hang up now" cracked me up. He and Dean have developed a great chemistry.

This episode was a definite improvement over some of the recent ones once I got past the "Cupid" opening. I may never want to hug anybody ever again!! Castiel is definitely a better fit to the show than Ruby or Bella were. It's probably been brought up countless times before, but Misha is the same guy who used to do all those Sprint commercials??

^ I have to admit I liked both Ruby (the original Katie Cassidy version) and Bella. However, Cas is the man. :D

Oh, I highly disagree when it comes to Ruby. Ruby was a great character and the actress who played her last season got a LOT of grief she in no way deserved. Without Ruby there is no realistic road for Sam to get where he's at now. As a matter fo fact one of my all time favorite scenes from the show is when Ruby says to Sam "You didn't need the feather to fly. You had it in you the whole time, Dumbo." That was awesome. :>))

As for Bella, well any hot chick with a sexy foreign accent, especially if it's British or Austrailian, is a-ok in my book. That said, I liked her as a foil for Dean and Sam and I liked the reveal at the end and how could anyone NOT sympathize and understand for her after that?

Really? They hooked up in real life? Maybe I just assumed he was already married with children like Jensen. Eh I didn't really mind Genevieves Ruby either
