Hey, be grateful it isn't Grey's Anatomy. TIIC fire all the gay characters and the actresses who portray them over there and rewrite planned bisexual characters as straight. Grey's doesn't even want to acknowledge they exist.

I agree the gay intern was a cutie pie, but Sam and Dean had no choice but to wipe the tape. I don't think it was intentional bias. They were still on the run from the FBI at that point. They can't have their faces all over a tv pilot. Think of it that way and it won't be as upsetting.

Yes they were dead at this point in the FBI's mind. But having a tape (and dated at that) showing them alive and kicking would not have been the wisest thing in the world.

As to teh gay aspect, well as a gay man myself I generally don't get worked up about how Supernatural handles the subject. Usually its as an insult to mock his younger brother. And while that can be insensitive it is something that often, often occurs between male siblings. And while the show has some over the top aspects to it, what does ground it (for myself at least) is how true the relationship is between those two). The next is the running gag of the brothers being taken as lovers, and that to I find amusing and true to life. As to this particular character he does fit a few stereotypes (a little fey, but less so then some and having an infatuation with a "straight" guy). But those are some common as well in the "real world" that I don't have a problem with it.

Though it would be nice to see a few random gay people in episodes (and ones that don't die), I can understand it on a production side. You have a cast of 2 hot guys, I am sure that they would like women as the primary guest stars (and they do have a lot of them).
