Superman: Secret Origin #1 (SPOILERS)

Anybody else get a "Spider-Man: The movie" feel from too much of this? Sure, it was just surface elements (use of powers in the highschool, running out; Clark lying about going the library! with talk in the car from adopted father; etc), but it's something that at least stood out for me. Not that it made it bad or took away anything, though.

I enjoyed the story, probably the first Superman story I've read since the Doomsday stuff (I don't own any Superman comics of my own), so, a retelling of the origin is fine with me.

And Gary Frank has been my favourite artist since his Hulk days, and he's only gotten better. Gorgeous stuff!! That's the reason I picked this up.

I dunno, I just liked how Man of Steel had Lex as older than Clark and not from Smallville but a Metropolis resident all his life.

Even though I had been reading comics for about 20 years prior to the Man of Steel mini series, MOS is "my Superman". The barnacle scraping, rethinking and way back to basics approach made the character fresh and new to me. I cant say that Secret Origin will have the same affect.
