News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

I'm curious. Do you think we will spend ever episode wondering why Supergirl doesn't show up to help Superman out? Or the The Flash or Black Lighting?

So we can not at all assume that picture is Superman’s suit on the series. All the actors are still in the US. Probably will be via video for the big DC Fandome event a week from tomorrow too. We might get concept art at best.

I do hope they revise it at least a little. The gold “metal” details like the cape clasps looked pretty cheap next to the new Supergirl costume in CoIE, where her costume had the corresponding part finished in reflective, metallic material rather than just being gold-colored.

The Arrowvverse is no more. It is now the CWVerse

I've seen that used as an alternative alongside Arrowverse for a while now. Most of the official stuff from DC and the teams responsible for the shows has still consistently referred to them as the Arrowverse.

Depends on the threat. If there is some sort of invading army of aliens, then it might make sense for other heroes to help out.

No. Black Lightning's season/series arcs unfolded without any reference to any other character (because they were not in his universe, and as of the recent season, the majority of the characters still act as if they are not in their universe), so it is natural to not hold your breath regarding anyone appearing on this Superman series.

That's because of writers. However, it's a fair question depending on the stakes. After COIE, the other heroes SHOULD have been involved in Freeland.

When it comes to the Arrowverse, I kind of assume the heroes all have some kind of an agreement that they'll let each other deal with any threats local to their city, and only come together for world/universe level threats.

That sort of seems implicit in any large comic-book universe. I mean, Superman could hop over to Gotham City and clean it up on Clark Kent's lunch hour if he chose to.

Has that ever happened in DC? Where all the heroes traded cities to get a fresh perspective on the crime there?

Probably numerous times in all the Silver Age team-up books they did like World's Finest. There were numerous times when Superman and Batman impersonated each other. There was one where Jimmy Olsen swapped places with Robin -- leading to the odd situation where Jimmy knew Batman's secret identity but not Superman's.

As noted in the Black Lightning threads, the showrunners had their season plotted before that CW-COIE, and its natural development would have been upended by other characters suddenly showing up, particularly characters who would not fit the world Black Lightning established (fantasy framing serious real world issues). In short, Black Lightning was better off and finished its season as its own universe.
