Superman Lives Test Footage

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but I'm fairly sure it hasn't. I know that there was a thread dealing with pics from Tim Burton's abortive SL project some time ago, but I can't be bothered with thread-necrophilia.

Anyway, rather than simple stills or photos, here's some actual footage of designers showing off designs for an outfit for Nicholas Cage to have worn had Burton's movie ever gotten off the ground. Expect purists to howl:

Burton should never touch superhero suits again. The batman returns suit was the only one I liked. It was much sleeker than the 89 suit.

People are starting to become the thread police. Let the mods be the judge and take care of it if they see fit.

And GOOD GOD did we dodge that bullet!

The mods have already posted a sticky about consolidating threads though. There seems to be like two or three different threads these days on the same subject when it can easily be lumped into one. Afterall that's what the search is for. I use search all the time. Don't see why others can't...and the Superman Lives thread is not far back.

That was just horrid. On the one hand, it'd be interesting to see a darker Superman; but on the other, Superman is just one of those characters where "dark and gritty" doesn't seem to fit.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to see how Christopher Nolan manages to find the right balance though!! :D

We also have a thread about consolidating threads, if you really want to hit on that:

Stop playing mini-mod. You're not cool enough to do that; no one likes you.

Tim Burton's Superman would've been one hell of an interesting train-wreck.

Yes. It would have set back the franchise and we would have waited another ten or fifteen years before WB was brave enough to tackle Superman again.

Holy crap that was bad. Embarrassingly bad. Who knows, maybe the story could have salvaged something of the design. But the design is so bad that I can't imagine ever taking the film seriously.
