Entertainment Weekly preview of season 5
Wouldn't be a huge deal to me, though I think "Supergirl" simply rolls more trippingly off the tongue.
Why is that article taunting us with pictures of the old suit, of which we are soon to be cruelly deprived?
The fight for Lena's soul?
Eat ###t Kara.
Lena's only problem is that you're an asshole.
Phil LaMarr is voicing J'onn's brother? Awesome!
Still not sold on the bangs, but they look kinda nice in the over-the-shoulder photo.
I approve of the bangs. Bangs are ALWAYS a good look on a woman. But the suit? No. Needs the skirt. It's the classic look.
I like the new suit.
She's the most beautiful woman in the world.
It really doesn't matter what she is wearing or how she does her hair.
Andrea Brooks (Eve) has been promoted to a series regular. She's come quite a way since her start as an inside-joke bit role. She's the evil Felicity!
Think he means the callback to Superman '78 (though given the popularity of that movie and the prominence of Perrine's character therein, it's not really all that "inside").
Named after Valerie Perrine's Eve Teschmacher character from Superman: The Movie. She was basically just a bit player thrown in so that Cat Grant could imitate Gene Hackman's "Miss Teschmacherrrrr!" yell from the film.
Oh, right. I forgot about that.
I love the videos at the bottom of the article.
Caity: "Beebo is basically the star of the show."
(Not only can't I find the next video on youtube that gave me the next quote, I can't find it again on the EW site) AHA! I found it!
Caity: "Almost all her family has been killed on that show."
Melissa: "I want to see Supergirl go to therapy. She's been thru some stuff!"
Why isn't Black Lighting represented in that video? Jason
It's not part of the Arrowverse.
My guess is because he hasn't crossed over with any other arrowverse show except a voice over in a (?) fight club / suit up commercial last year.
Despite being superior to any of the Arrowverse shows (yes, even my beloved Supergirl), Black Lightning is consistently sidelined pretty much everywhere. It barely gets discussed here, or reviewed anywhere. All the Arrowverse shows have had Blu-ray releases announced for their latest seasons, but not Black Lightning. I just wish I could figure out what sets the show apart that could possibly account for such marginalization ....
Jeremy Jordan Returning
The article also mentioned Andrea Brooks (Eve Tessmacher) has been promoted to season regular.
Yes, it says something that the far and away best of the DC/CW shows is handled like an afterthought. It has a very different message/inspiration--one that is not found on the other shows, so that may have something to do with it.
That is strange an a bit disturbing.
