[Super Bowl] Live by the sword ...

Actually, I did - on the radio and on the web. The difference is those guys weren't out-and-out lambasting the officiating. They were also talking about the aforementioned two overturned calls as well as the critical safety call and a cut block by a Cards OL that wasn't called right before Harrison's punches. All of that and others benefited the Cardinals. ;)

Feeble attempts to justify the horrendous officiating after the fact. I'm not sure I believe it was reviewed on the spot, frankly ... and, as pointed out, it certainly wasn't given a proper review, or it would have been overturned.

Wasn't it convenient that the overwhelming majority of the close calls were ruled in the Steelers' favor on the field, so that the refs and NFL could hide behind the "there wasn't enough evidence to overturn it" horseshit?

Unquestionably the Cardinals were hosed and are arguably the real champs.

Final score: Cardinals 23, Referees 17, Steelers 10

I'm so proud of them: They never gave up,
Agree.
and they clearly outplayed the world champions.
Not clear at all.
If not for the fluke return, Arizona wins going away.
"Fluke return"? The Steelers were in a defense that totally fooled Warner and made him throw it where he should not have thrown it. Then the Cards were unable to muster the speed, desire, or whatever, to catch a linebacker who had to run over 100 yards to score. If I were the Cards' coaches and this had been anything other than the Super Bowl, I would have thrown a fit at my offensive team. It was a great play by Harris and a pretty embarrassing one for the Cards. If I'm a Steelers coach, especially the DC and linebacker coach, the recording of that return goes into my archives.

They're young ... they're talented ... and they'll be back. :techman:
Maybe, but not for a looooooong time, I'de bet.
