Summer... bring it on!!!

Alright guys and girls, summer is on it's way, what are your big plans? A long mean winter is finally dust in the wind and I for one am looking to warm weather.

We had 4 months of straight snow with some really bad storms here in Michiana this year (I live near Notre Dame) and it's been a bad winter then some previous years. But... summer is near! Any plans? Summer movies you're looking forward to? Getting married?

There are some movies I would like to see coming up, The Smurfs is one, and Rise of the Apes (if it is still coming out). I haven't heard much about it yet, but that's how some movies are.

I'm just glad winter is finally over with

Finishing up my degree, studying for the GRE, two family reunions, weddings, etc.

Feeling the sun on my back and hopefully having to get a bath because I want to cool down not defrost!

I'll be working for the most part. Will vacation in Quebec for a few days in June but that's about it.

I want to spend every second of it outside, wearing as little as possible. I want my only accessories to be a sun-hat and an iced drink.

:guffaw: totally agree!

On second thoughts I don't want to offend the neighbours so maybe a little sarong as well :techman:

Oh my! :)

Be careful of the sun damaging your skin. I've become a sunscreen fanatic during the summer.

^ Not much chance of that over here in "tropical" Britain! I've also recently been made aware of sun damage, apparently, no one is completely safe. The highest we've had in recent memory is 35°C in 2007 - I remember the day very well - it took every one by surprise - we spent about an hour or so queuing outside in the midday heat for a ride on the London Eye, no shade in sight. I have a high heat tolerance, and was in seventh heaven, but had brought a large hat, merely as a fashion accessory. My friend who was very pale indeed, had brought no protection at all, and looked about ready to drop, and so ended up with my hat for the day even though it wasn't quite her style. Lots of cold climate people suffered heat stroke from what I saw on the news. That's probably a cool afternoon in your part of the woods.

If it hits 25 at all, then it's been a good summer! I live in hope!

, as long as you've got 3 leafs, all should be well. :D

I'll be attending my first ever San Diego Comic Con this July. Pretty excited. I would like to sneak away to someplace tropical for a few days but I haven't made any concrete plans about that. Overall, I just plan to enjoy not being cold all the time. I don't tolerate winter very well.

Summer is a time of death and misery. All life fades and hides from the hideous heat, yet there is no escape. At night you can still feel the heat from the baleful sun. What little water there is dries up, leaving the land as dry as a centuries old corpse. There is nothing good about summer.

Certainly felt like summer today, but until May I assume we're in for at least one more snowing.
