Summary of the Best and Worst movie polls

Now that both the BEST TREK FILM poll and the WORST TREK FILM poll seem to have run their courses--and become outdated since they were both started before the new movie came out--I would like to summarize them.

As of July 7, 2009, at the time I am posting this:

Best Film Poll:

Movie with the strongest showing on both polls:
TMP has received 26 votes for Best Film and 30 votes for Worst Film.

Weakest showing in both polls:
ST3 has received only 2 votes for Best and 2 votes for Worst.

Most popular Odd-numbered movie on the Best Film poll:
TMP with 26 votes.
ST3 and Ins tied for a distant second with 2 votes each.

Most disliked Even-numbered movie on the Worst film poll:
Nem, with 116 votes.
A distant second is FC with 8 votes.

Biggest surprise (to me, that is):
In the Best Film poll, FC comes in 4th. I had expected 2nd.

Result with which I most agree:
Yup, of the first ten, Star Trek 2 is the best.

Result with which I most disagree:
C'mon guys! ST5 is MUCH worse than Nemesis!

I agree Star trek V is worst than Nemesis. Bad FSX, bad director, bad acting, and bad plot. At least Nemesis plot was slightly better in all the catorgories. Nemesis won't be hated as much if it wasn't TNG's final film.

I'm not surprised that Search for Spock got few votes in either poll. There's something very mid-table about it, it's relatively rare that I see very strong feelings for or against.

Interesting how The Motion Picture proves divisive. For some people it's what Trek is supposed to be all about, for others it's, well... motionless.

Thanks for compiling the results. I agree some of the results are surprising. For example I never knew that so many fans considered TMP to be the best film. It will be interesting when we do it again now that Trek XI is out to see where it ranks and see how it effects the rankings of the other movies!

I like Trek V better than #8,9,& 10.
At least it has the crew I prefer. I find the Borg to be incredibly boring, as were the So'na. And Nemesis was just horrendous.

I'll take the laughing vulcan over any of those!!

You know, I really liked the fact that The Undiscovered Country was not voted once in the worst movie poll. Must of done something right.

I couldn't really concentrate on the storyline for Star Trek V. I'd get kinda bored watching it and eventually watch a different Trek movie.

I'd rate TFF well above NEM and INS. Infact I'd rate all the other movies above INS.

In reviewing the actual movie list, I realize that I've only seen the first 5 movies and I don't even remember The Final Frontier. My favorites though would be TWOK and SFS. I can't believe SFS didn't get more votes in either category. The Voyage Home was fun. I fell asleep on TMP in the theater and didn't like it any better later on when I saw it. I'm amazed that people think that's one of the better Treks.
