I used to pay attention to reviews, mainly to get a sense of what to expect from a particular film. I try not to pay attention to the critical parts of one.
Uh, no. Whedon was kicked off Wonder Woman after spinning his wheels for a really long time and not delivering a god damn thing.

It got "half a star" out of 4 stars from Associated Press.
A reviewer that I'm fond of stated something interesting...he said that the movie is indeed just that a "Sucker Punch". I'm guessing that he meant that it draws you in with the visual spectacle but while you're distracted with that, the story bangs you over the head and not in a good way. I dunno. I wasn't expecting to hear such overwhelming negative reviews, it doesn't matter. I'm still seeing it tomorrow night.

Holy shit, I'm in love with this film, though if it's true that Snyder cut 18 minutes out of it to secure a PG-13, than I'm really eager to see what was cut out. Cause while I did love the film and I do feel it deserves the A that I gave it, I did feel like something was missing, it felt incomplete...and there were a few moments where I could tell harsher language was cut out.
There's so much of the story that I want to discuss here, but I think I'll wait till more people have seen it. I realize it's not going to be for everyone but when the movie started and that beautiful version of "Sweet Dreams" was playing, I was hooked.

I suspect that the 18 minutes will be in the assumed Director's Cut DVD.
The funny thing is I'm not sure what everyone was really expecting. I'm seeing it tonight sometime.
I think usually people like some plot to go with their action. From everything I've read, that's where this movie fails. That and the random unrelated imagery/music is either hamfistedly trying to make its point or it's so random as to not really make any sort of point.
At any rate, the people who like it will ask "what did you expect" as if that excuses a movie for being shitty somehow (see Battle: LA), while simultaneously claiming it's smarter than it appears to be.
I may still see it just so I can at least legitimately complain about it. Who knows, maybe I'll even like it.
