Successful kit-bash: any such thing?

The worst ship thread inspired me to start this one.

If you had to choose one, which, in your view, is the most successful kit-bash design and why?

I'm still thinking about my choice, so won't answer yet.

The Nebula, by far, is the most successful and long lived kit-bash design, imho. It's a rearranged Galaxy with a random 'pod' attachment, but it is a good design in itself for another 24th century ship class.

The Cheyenne isn't bad, nor is the New Orleans. The kitbashes used for DS9, on the other hand, were truely horrific

That would be the Yeager class. An Intrepid-class saucer attached to the aft portion of....a Maquis raider? The scale is all wrong.

There's also the Shelley class from "A Time To Stand". A very weird looking Excelsior/Miranda kitbash.

I like the idea of there being ships in Starfleet's yards that have a Galaxy-like appearance despite being smaller, although the actual execution's off in those two designs. Then again, they were put together from commercial model kits and marker pens for budgetary reasons...

Oh, and I do like the Constellation design, despite the underside of the saucer being inelegantly bulbous.

I hate the Constellation with a blinding passion.
oOkay, I'm exaggerating, but I think it's a crappy, quickie kitbash.

How is the Constellation class a kitbash? I don't recognise any parts salvaged from other classes, the components look like new designs to me.

I for one love the Yeager - very balanced design, giving the Intrepid bow the proper wings she deserves. Nice companion design for that class, really, sort of like the Constitution/Miranda pairing, with the kitbash omitting the secondary hull.

The Centaur is cool too. Innovative use of the Excelsior shuttlebay as the bow deflector-thingy. Great to see the Excelsior saucer applied in a different scale, too.

Miranda, Nebula, Constellation, Niagara, Centaur (it's quite a cool layout so long as you don't get too close and notice how many greebles are all over it), New Orleans, and Cheyenne.

I would agree with the Yeager if the secondary hull could be redesigned to not look like a gigantic Maquis Raider crashed into the back of Voyager's saucer (I know the point was for a quick and dirty bashing of parts to create a new ship seen from a distance, but I'm talking about a redesign to make the ship more realistic looking). The proportions and the overall shape are good though.
