Submitting Articles Online

Hello,
I am wondering if there are any places online other than Startrek.com that accept article/essay submissions? Startrek.com asks for writing examples from previous publications, but not from personal blogs or websites. Unfortunately I don't have anything to share since I'm new at this.

Has anyone else submitted to the official website? Please share anything you have learned.
Any advice is greatly appreciated and if there are any places online that accept writings on Star Trek, please let me know.
