This is a 28-year-old vinyl model kit put out by Geometric Models. It's 1/6 scale, so about a foot tall. It's a pretty good likeness of Carolyn Seymour. I googled up some frame grabs of her appearance in "Contagion," and was horrified to see the complex patterns of grey quilting on her uniform. I decided to simplify it by just painting a triangle in each cell. That took a few weeks on and off, 'cause I could only stand doing about a square inch at a time.
. I added some solid color panels to reduce the labor. Then after I posted to facebook, someone in the know pointed out the sculpt represented her in "Face of the Enemy," in which her uniform is a much simpler checked pattern. Story of my life
.
The photos don't show the subtle olive pastel shading I did on her face very well.
More photos at the link, including a screen grab of the complex uniform:

Carolyn Seymour herself complimented the model on Facebook (it's amazing who pops up there), but didn't remember approving "a doll."
Also, disclaimer: I usually build spaceships and airplanes, so my occasional figure model ain't up to the quality of guys who do figures all the time.
