STXI in Burnout Paradise

For all gamers out there, there are now Star Trek billboards in Burnout Paradise (at least for the Xbox360). What better way to wreck your car than with a lovely Trek ad in the background...

They're really going all out with the marketing. And last year, Barack Obama had his campaign ads in the game, so I'd say this bodes well for the film's success. He sold a lot of tickets, too

Re: Star Trek in Paradise City

Because of this thread I urged my buddy to play Burnout tonight. But unfortunately we didn't get the ads. But we also played SceneIt, where there actually were ads for Star Trek in the background! Funny that. :)

Re: Star Trek in Paradise City

^^ Right. Ever since I've been playing this game, any association of that name with Star Trek V has been replaced by mental images of deformed car wrecks and reckless racing. For me that is...

Maybe someone could edit the thread title.

Re: Star Trek in Paradise City

I don't know. "STXI in Burnout Paradise" or something to that effect.

Re: Star Trek in Paradise City

For what it's worth, personally I liked the double entendre of the thread title. Why not confuse people a little? To be honest, that's also the reason why I came into this thread in the first place.

Done.

You've got a point. Not being a gamer at all, I wasn't really sure what the title meant, either. However, we've already got plenty of confused people wandering in and out of the forum, so I don't mind making this one a little more self-explanatory. ;)

They're relatively simple designs. Black with the Star Trek logo and "07.05.09" underneath. Sorry, I didn't take a photo, and I don't think I can do screenshots off the Xbox. Maybe a PC gamer? Next time I'm playing I'll try to take a photo with my cell if anyone's interested. It's really not much to look that, though... But it gets the message across. :)

By the way, when is the Star Trek DAC game coming out? This Thursday? That should give Xbox users another good look at Trek once again. I know a lot of people who download trial versions of all Xbox Live Arcade games.
