According to Broadcast STV are planning on producing a "Game of Thrones" style series around William Wallace.

STV Productions has embarked on an ambitious project to turn the story that inspired Oscar-winning film Braveheart into a Game of Thrones-style series.

The production arm of the Scottish broadcaster is developing a historical drama based on the life of William Wallace, one of the leaders of Scotland’s fight for independence in the 1300s.
The company is working with LA-based Creative Media and Nine/8 Entertainment on the project, while DRG will handle the worldwide distribution - launching it at MipTV next month.
Creative Scotland will also invest in show through a development fund agreed with STV in 2011.
Wallace will look to draw on the success of Spartacus and Game of Thrones and will depict the freedom fighter’s story, including his battles with King Edward the Longshank and relationship with rival Robert the Bruce.

This greatly annoys me as there is so much potential here, but it is nearly impossible to tell the story of the Scottish Wars of Independence with William Wallace as your protagonist with any sense of objectivity for historical fact. At least not without exposing William Wallace's very real flaws as a military leader and Randall Wallace's blatant disregard for history in writing the film.

Hopefully, this will be entirely new telling of Wallace's life seperate of that hack Randall Wallace's movie script.

Would I watch it anyway? Very probably.
