Stupid tv shows that you're obsessed with

Kirby

For me, I can't stop watching Storage Wars and Bait Car.

Storage Wars - Between the auctions, the battles between the 'stars', the mystery of what's in those lockers, and Barry's weirdness it just creates a perfect half hour of worthless tv. A&E suckers me in by running these things back to back too, so I can waste my life in two hour chunks.

Bait Car - We get to watch the underbelly of society in their natural habitat. You'd think that these people would get a clue because these cars are just too easy to steal, but stupid is not a crime, it just leads to crime.
The resigned looks on their faces when they cut the car's power off is priceless. One guy, who was in the process of getting arrested seemed delighted that he was going to be on tv.

I wouldn't call it stupid by any means, but others might, so I figure why not: Disorderly Conduct: Video on Patrol.

And yes, that is Robert Patrick narrating. :techman:

Gold Rush and Alaska State Troopers - mostly for the scenery in the background.

Kirby, if you like Storage Wars, There is a show called - I think - Auction Hunters on either Spike or FX, not sure which channel. It's basically the same thing, couple of guys go and bid on storage units and then get to look inside. It's a better show though in that there is none of the fake "drama" or competition between the "stars".

Yeah, I like Auction Hunters better. The Storage Wars thing is so contrived that it takes me out of it completely. Might as well admit upfront that the whole thing is just scripted tv with seeded units.

if you were actually doing that as a business, why would you go to auctions full of other professionals? Just guarantees that the price is driven up and you're not going to get a deal. You make money by competing against rookies that don't know how to really make money off of it. If you went to an auction and saw that group, you'd just leave, not compete with them...

I have to admit I like Storage Wars. I also like watching American Pickers, Pawn Stars and Cake Boss.

The only "reality TV" (documentaries, really) I watch are shows like Off Limits and Mysteries at the Museum - which aren't stupid in the least. For me, stupid scripted shows are the way to go, notably American Horror Story. Idiotic fun! :rommie:

Depends on what "stupid" is.

I always thought of reality TV as "garbage TV", but watch Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares as much as possible.

I love it when he makes grown men cry.

Kitchen Nightmares isn't stupid at all imo, in fact I think it should be mandatory viewing for anybody who even thinks about opening a restaurant. I've only seen the British version though.

Hell's Kitchen is stupid though.

TRU tv's "World's Dumbest..." and "It Only Hurts When I Laugh!" If I catch a marathon of either of those two shows, I'm good for the day.

SPIKE tv's "1000 Ways to Die" has me either laughing my ass off or sitting stunned in total disbelief at how some people have met their maker...

UFO Hunters and Ancient Aliens.

Everytime I flip by one of those shows, I just have to stop and watch for awhile. Just to see all the laughably unscientific analysis going on, and to listen to all those so-called "experts" who clearly don't know the first thing about critical thinking. :D

< you mean this guy with the hair?

Thanks I'll have to check that out. I've heard of Auction Kings, which is set in an auction house; but it doesn't sound like what you described.

Four in a bed. Its a UK show where 4 bed and breakfast owners stay a night in each others B&Bs and pay what they think their stay was worth.
Also last week started watching come dine with me which follows 4 in a bed.

I love that show. I like seeing all the cool shit they find. Or don't find. I can't stand Dave though. I always feel like punching him. Barry's a strange cat but he's cool. I like his gloves. Plus I think Brandi's hot.
