STTE: Final visit...

Yes, when I was there a few weeks back they were playing the trailer for Abrams' movie constantly.
They were also handing out posters for it as well.:angryrazz:

You do understand that people have gone beyond arguing with you or being annoyed by you and now simply ignore your constant drumbeating against the next movie, right?

Abrams is the only future Star Trek has.

You don't really expect me to just be grateful that that asshole is making a movie with the Trek label slapped on it do you? Part of me is glad the Experience is closed for good now.
It won't be tainted by Abram's crap at all.
If they want to build a new STTE based on his movie, they can build it from the ground up, and I won't have to step foot in it. Putting up with the trailer and those posters (which I quickly threw away when I got up to my room) was bad enough.

It's just shocking that you've formed such a strong bias based on absolutely no information. To each his own, I guess.

Well take it to a forum and thread where its relevant. This one is about the late, great Star Trek: The Experience.

Cmdr J Cricton asked if they were playing the trailer for this movie at the Experience. I gave him an honest answer. They were playing the trailer when I was there a few weeks back.
You're the one making a big deal over it, Dale.

Great report, Dale. It was a pleasure to meet you that night, if all too briefly. What a crowd! Biggshow, I had hoped to say hello in person and thank you for all the pre-event information you shared, but all I saw was your back in the crowd just as the ceremony was about to start (pointed out to me by Dale).

I'm amazed at the fortitude of people who were there all day drinking. All I had were 2 drinks, and I was feeling a little tipsy! I was there from 3:30 pm - on, and was lucky enough to be on the last public ride of the Klingon Encounter, which was reportedly being filmed for the movie DVD set coming out at Christmas. There was a man right behind me from Kentucky who said this was his 1,015th ride! Wow. That's dedication for you.

I'll be posting my report of the event on my blog pretty soon, but have been enjoying reading others' reports and seeing pics and vids of the event. I have never felt short (I'm 5' 5 3/4") until that night, when I couldn't get a decent picture of the ceremony or characters in the bar because I was surrounded by people taller than me all night long. So I really appreciate all of the photos and videos that people have been sharing.

I felt incredibly privileged and honored to be there for the end. It was a very moving experience.

I didnt get to meet anyone from here this weekend, but was able to meet a couple of others from different forums. I also met the guy from Kentucky. We met on Sunday morning while waiting in line, at that point he was at 1,010 rides. He says he went at least twice a year since 1999

What I've heard is that it'll be on the DVD extras of JJ Abrams "Star Trek" when it's eventually released. The film is due out 05/08/09 in theaters, so I'd assume the DVD would be out by the end of 2009 or perhaps early 2010 (unless it's a giant, old-style hit and lasts for ages in the theaters).

I think what the guy said was that they are going to release all previous Trek movies in a box set, in anticipation of the next movie coming out. But I could be wrong about that. Personally, I'd rather see it on the DVD extras of JJ's movie, because I already own the other Trek movies and there's no way I'm buying a new set just to see a few seconds of myself in the extras. :-)

The only thing I heard was that it would be on the extras to *some* dvd set, but they didnt specify. I'd think it would be the one for the new movie rather than a re-release of the old ones, but I guess we'd have to ask Paramount to know for sure.
