STS-126 - Anyone going to the launch?

Time for another launch, a night launch and weather looks to be holding clear. So it should be spectacular.

I will be going and of course will post pictures for you folks.

Is there anyone else going from the BBS?

No, but I have been invited to join my employer and several colleagues in attending the launch - currently scheduled for next month - of Astrium's HOT BIRD 9 and W2M satellites via Ariane 5 booster from the Guiana Space Center near Kourou, French Guiana.

I live just a couple of hours south of the Cape near West Palm Beach, so I can just walk out the front door and see 'em.

The night launches ARE spectacular and easily seen as far south as Miami (I used to work near the Miami airport and saw one go off from my office window.)

But I really think the on-line coverage of a shuttle launch is brilliant!

Nope. I had to hang back in DC this week. Should be going up though as weather looks goods.
