String Theory Trilogy

I'm going to be taking another crack that this one, just for Kirsten, cuz I love her Voyager work.

This thing is convulting, huh? I loved how real the characters felt and Jeffrey Lang did a great job and the Kirsten of course was great in hers, but i never made it to book three,

What's your impression of this trilogy?

Book 3 is seriously weird. The kind of plot-hole-fixing that ends up way more strange than the plot holes were in the first place.

I liked all three, though I agree the third book is the weakest and its solutions don't always convince. I always enjoy plot-holes being filled, but as Thrawn said, some of the answers here were stranger than the holes they attempted to explain. . The trilogy was also too ambitious for its own good- it tried to pack too much in, I think, and wasn't quite able to pay-off on all the interesting ideas and concepts it introduced. I liked Monorhan culture and the Monorhan characters of book one, for instance, but there was no real resolution to any of it- none that had an emotional impact, at least-, leaving me feeling a little cheated. The trilogy was enjoyable, and they certainly gave us a beefy story, nothing straight-forward, but there are reasonably large flaws too. I suppose overall I appreciate the story's scope and its complexity, but squeezing all of that into a trilogy might not have been the best idea. I'd still recommend them, though.

I really liked the first two, but I do have to agree about the weirdness of the third one. I don't remember alot of it, but I do remember that an attempt to explain something from the show was strange, and IMO completely unnecessary. Even with the issues in the third book, I still think the over-all arc of the trilogy was really good, and would definitely recommend it to any Voyager fan.

I read somehwere that the 3rd books leads into Season 5's night and something Voyager does creates the void, BUT there were lifeforms that evoloved there, so i dont know ...

All three books are outstanding. In fact, I might just have to reread them during the summer of no new Trek books.

I really dug this trilogy, but the last book was my least favorite. The Q stuff left me cold, and it just didn't grab me like the previous two (volume 2 being my favorite).

I definitely recommend it, though.

I kinda liked the third book because of the Q stuff, most especialy Harry and Tom's interactions; It also felt as if Q was doing what he was always supposed to be doing. I enjoy weird curveballs, I guess.

I was reading this today and laughed out loud. A crewman died but she was a graduate of Mars University. All i could think was "ROBOT HOUSE!!!!!!!"

That would actually be a pretty apt description of book three.
