Spoilers Stranger Things - Season 5

So I wonder what will make it part of the Stranger Things universe if it has all new characters, time period and setting. Sounds like the have a idea for a show but can't get it made unless they tagged it with a brand name IP to it.
Remember how Star Trek: The Next Generation takes place a hundred years after Star Trek?

@Neroon is a Mod.So it's more than a suggestion.
I understand, but I share similarly on the Turkish forums I'm on. Here, I think there's a copyright issue because it's an American forum. Also, since it's a discussion platform, I'm expected to participate in discussions. I understand, but they'll probably decide I'm not suitable here after a while and remove me. I'm not exactly a rule-abiding person on the forums I'm on, both in terms of writing and sharing. This place has been open for 25 years, and since you won't keep me here for another 25 years, you'll probably delete my account in a year or two anyway. So, I don't think there's any need to argue. By the way, I liked the final episode of the show.

so many theorys about eleven being dead or alive

i wonder what stuff happened during that 1 year and a half during that time jump before the party graduated high school

like how did everyone find out that hopper was alive and when did max start moving again and when did mr wheeler wake up from the coma and did holly see her parents at the hospital and when did hawkins start to rebuild

ST ended in 1989. The first McD opened in Moscow in 1990.

I’m subtly referring to a tradition in fiction (particularly the kind of fiction ST is sort of adjacent too, and Cold War stuff) whereby certain USAien corporations are vaguely in the old East India model, essentially the tendrils of Empire, and that essentially anywhere with a Coca-Cola vending machine or similar can be considered US territory, particularly when it comes to war.

By virtue of having such things, the Upside Down is US soil. Hoo Rah.

Apparently the play is a little more vague about that the scientist had than I had assumed from I read before.
But that confuses me because they said the spin-off will explain the origins of the stone, but that it will be have new characters, in a new setting, with a new mythology. But if the stone came from The Abyss, and was part of Brenner's experiments, then wouldn't that mean that the show will pretty much have to deal with Brenner and The Abyss and all of that?

Most likely, the spin-off show will tell a different story and events, but at some point it will connect to 'the stone' and Vecna, but if the show takes 5 seasons to reach 'that' point, it will be in the final season, and that's only if the show is successful.

BTW, just randomly reflecting about Dustin's speech. That whole stuff about uniting the students and throwing away the cliques like nerds/jocks/whatever.

Netflix uploaded a video titled something like 'for the nerds, freaks, and heroes and it made me think of Dustin's speech.

Did I miss that happening? Did it happen *after* the final battle and the military left? Cuz that really didn't seem like the high school HE was attending when the season started. He got his ass kicked pretty badly by multiple jocks.

Seemed like they just wanted to put in that kind of scene in a teen 80's movie where you see the cliques called out or a character 'overcomes it' and gives some kind of 'profound' public speech about them even though I don't think it really reflected the Hawkins high school experience we saw Dustin's character go through.

It was a nice moment in concept but it would have played better if we had seen them spend any time in high school this year. The bullies were gone from the narrative by episode 2 and nobody want to class after episode 1. Out of all the problems with this season the biggest one was the show had the characters in action hero mode from episode 1. I did notice the principle, and I think it was done on purpose, kind of looks like Paul Gleason who played the principle in 'The Breakfast Club."

That's true but it did carry over things like Starfleet/Federation, Klingons and The Enterprise. Plus a cameo by Bones. It does seem the one carryover thing might be that weird rock. I do wonder what else that might carryover. Maybe a character cameo. A reference to Hawkins as a town. I personally think the ability to open gateways might be something, even though it won't be to the Upside Down anymore but to other planets.

It's up to each one of us based on personality and desires to believe one version or the other.

Or choose to believe both at the same time.

Seriously. That's a pretty silly hill to die on.

He was referring to his own friend group.
