News Stranger Things - Season 5

io9 has a partial cast list:
  • Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven
  • Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max
  • Luca Diaz as Mike
  • Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas
  • Braxton Quinney as Dustin
  • Ben Plessala as Will
  • Brett Gipson as Hopper
Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips have also joined the cast in currently undisclosed roles.

As I've mentioned before, I think it's a much better idea to recast the characters with actors who can recreate the voices instead of the original cast trying emulate their younger selves. Plus, that was a classic hallmark of 80s animated shows of live-action films.

...also...Janeane Garofalo?! Hell, yes! I didn't think it was possible but now I'm even more excited about this show!

Yeah, I was wondering how they were going to handle the kids for that. I wonder why they announced Hopper but not Nancy?
I've watched the first two episodes of Season 4 and El's bullying really is impacting me emotionally. I've said in this thread that I think she will die in Season 5, and I think part of the reason why is I want Eleven to be at peace with herself. She was picked and prodded in a lab, already isolated from society and when she does try to have a normal life, she gets bullied and emotionally assaulted to the point where she breaks and hits the bully with a roller skate. It was pretty jarring, actually, almost to the point where I could totally understand why she did it.
I don't know, I'm kind of hoping she survives. after everything she's been through she really deserves a happy ending. Which is part of why I could see them killing off Hopper, that ways he can have a happy ending, but still lose something.

While I had hoped they'd used tradition two-dimensional animation style of the 80s, I nonetheless love the animation style they have used because it still has an 80s feel to it.

Hopefully we'll get a proper trailer soon because I'm really looking forward to this adventure.
That does look like a lot of fun, and the animation is a nice combination of modern CGI, but with an '80s animation influence in the style.

Just watched Dear Billy. I forgot how intense the Running Up That Hill scene really was. I was doing this rewatch for Season 5, but I haven't seen Season 4 since it originally aired and to see scenes like that again for what feels like the first time makes this season worth it.

I just stumbled onto this randomly in my YouTube feed:
