Strange tint on IMMUNITY SYNDROME this weekend?

Everything in the episode was sort of tinted. It was most obvious with anything that was red. It looked almost violet. The bridge doors, Uhura and Scotty's uniforms, etc.

After noticing that, I started noticing the other colors didn't look quite right either.

Was it just my local station goofing up again, or did the feed from CBS to the stations come out bad this time? (Did you ALL see what I saw?)

You managed to stay up that late? I gave up, there was no way I was sitting through Regenesis, or whatever it was. I wonder if perhaps your brain was red with fever from the early morning radiation.

The DVR is a nice tool...sadly it failed to deliver a good signal.

But this was a RERUN of TOS-R wasn't it?

Plum, haven't you been reminded a few times that the show runs at whatever time the LOCAL station runs it, and not at the same time everywhere?

Such as NOT at the time YOUR local station runs it?

Besides...

I leave my recorder set to get it.

... well, on the east coast we share a time zone. I figure. Boston/New York is only an hour behind me, for example. I don't live that far out on the water...

Sure, but what time TOS-R is on is decided by individual local stations. You probably can't go fifty miles in any direction without crossing into a place where it's on at a different time, different day, or not at all.

The tints on some of the original, unremastered episodes and even "new" copies are kind of faded or bleeding. Always have been that way. That didn't change even with the new digital effects.

Hmm, erm, yet, most people here report watching it around 3am, early Sunday's. *shrug*, I believe these things are broadcast with delay, etc. When I see it it's a feed from the US, so... etc. As far as I can tell. :)

Sorry to be OT there guys.

"Friday's Child" has had kind of a dark, gloomy tint from the beginning. Both the original and Remastered versions of the episode are sort of poorly-lit or badly tinted.

... I wonder if this 'tint' is noticed by those with nice flat TVs, etc. Back in the day, the various sorts of 'stock' film they used could cause a large difference in tint. This would be far more noticeable on a good Tv setup. Just speculating.

Actually, I saw "Friday's Child" on a flat screen TV at a friend's house a while back and yes...the tint and lighting are still wanky and off. I think it's just the original look of the celluloid master copy passed down through the years. Even Remastering doesn't kill all the oddball quirks of the original film.
