Strange rumours of new Marvel movies...

I don't care if I'm the only person in the world that would go see a Cable movie. I'd pay my $12.50.

I would as well. I always thought he was a pretty interesting character. It's possible since he had a fairly large and interesting back story.

If they skip the Goblin Queen storyline(which they would have to with Scott and Jean being dead and all), that would probably mean Jean Grey would be his mom(she basically was anyway), which of course would make Wolverine an even bigger piece of shit for going after a married mother. So I see no problems here.

wouldnt Squirrel Girl be best suited to a Fantastic Four movie?

I have said it before on this forum but I think a "Great Lake Avengers" movie could inject some humour into the Superhero team up genre, in a movie similar in style to say BadNewsBears.

If someone wanted to do that, they ought to do the Giffen-era Justice League. Now I'd pay double for that.

Cable? Nighthawk? Vision?

These characters warrant their own films? How do you have a Vision movie without the Avengers or a Cable movie without the X-Men?

I notice you pick the 3 that I agree are less automatic to have a movie, doesn't mean it wouldn't work.

Blade was a hit(regardless of varied opinion).
Ghost Rider was a hit(again regardless of opinions) and a sequel may yet happen.
Daredevil was as well. Fox Studios wants to reboot it, ala Hulk.
Even the Fantastic Four movies had success, Fox may reboot those.
Watchmen will be in the black when its all said and done. Its box office will underperform but it will be in the black.
V for Vendetta, Constantine, LofEG all made money when it was all said and done. These like Vision or Cable are/were lesser known...if known at all by general movie masses.

There is a rich history of material and talented enough people/equipment to bring good movies about concerning Black Panther, Dr.Strange and Iron Fist. I'd welcome those movies if made with the same zest that was placed into Iron Man or Incredible Hulk.

Lesser known doesn't = shouldn't do

I think both Nighthawk and Moon Knight are derivative of Batman. I don't get the Hawkman comparison with Nighthawk, the JMS version anyway. JMS's Nighthawk was definitely inspired by Batman.

BTW I would love to see a Nighthawk movie. I loved JMS's run on Supreme Power/Squadron Supreme. I also think Dr. Strange could be a good flick, esp. if they make it along the lines of the animated feature.

I'm not so sure about Cable or the Vision. However, I would probably rather see these get made than Ant-Man.

I also would like to see Black Panther, Moon Knight, Luke Cage, and Deathlok on the big screen.

I wouldn't waste time debating the Batman influence in Nighthawk, I'm sure there is some. He Superman and a few others are where probably 75% of all others have some roots or influence.

It's quite clear though that Moon Knight is the most Batman-esque character in the Marvel stable.

Rich
Other Alliases(Matches Malone/Jake Lockely etc)
Frenchie(Alfred)
Marlane(Vicki Vale)
Moon Copter(Batplane)
Lockley's cab(Batmobile)
Crescent darts/Bat darts
MKs truncheon line/bat rope-grappel
sidekick gone bad: jason todd Robin/Midnight
Dark Knight/Moon Knight

Its just no contest on who the most Batman-esque character is at Marvel. Wizard mag agrees with me for what its worth.

Moon Knight and even Iron Man are derivative of Batman, no question, but Nighthawk was originally introduced as part of a team opposing the Avengers which was a parody of the Justice League, and Nighthawk was supposed to be the Batman analogue. he's since evolved to be a unique character but in no way does he warrant his own movie.

I don't know anything about Cable beyond what I learned in the 90s FOX cartoon, but I loved the stories he was in. I'd definitely go see a Cable movie.

I thumbed through her "death" issue, and I'm not entirely sure that I buy it.

^^^
You'd be silly to 'buy' any death in comics these days.
There was a span where some of the dead stayed dead.
However, this decade as seen Elysian Fields as having a clear circular pattern to it with too many dead heroes now back. Both at Marvel & DC.
