Strange rumours of new Marvel movies...

Saturation of the market? Sounds like Marvel to me.

Brought to you by the company that gives you more than a dozen X-titles per month!

Nighthawk BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ok. Hello Marvel did you see how poorly a superhero movie without a known charcter did?(Watchman) Did you see how your own properties without big names did?(Elektra, Punisher) Learn from the mistakes and dont make them again. Thor will also fail unless made on a Lord of the Rings scale both cinematically and budget wise. Really Marvel these characters would be better served by animated releases. I mean good ones not that drivel you have released so far.

On the other hand: Blade, The Incredibles, the numerous action films that have no brand recognition at all beforehand.

As to the OP, as Blade shows, you can get a good film out of virtually anyone in comics who's been around for a while; the material is there. I'm surprised that they have the ability to use Cable; you would think he would fall under the X-Men license.

Blade was decent enough and worth a couple sequels. A lessor known character doesn't automaticly make a bad movie, any more than the Fantastic Four characters automaticly meant a good movie.

Cable had his own comic for more than "a while." Hell, he was in multiple comics for most of his popularity.

I don't care if I'm the only person in the world that would go see a Cable movie. I'd pay my $12.50.

Only the first Blade was good. The sequel was too weird and the third movie just sucked.

Cable wouldn't be Cable without his backstory. I mean unless Marvel Films is going to end run around Fox and take back the X-Men franchise from them or do a quasi reboot? Course Cable could work in one of two ways
Ultimate Cable which was an old Wolverine from the far future.
Classic Cable but taking into account some of Fox's X-Men...

Cable is a grandfather paradox. He exists, but without his help he won't exist. Basically I can see him coming back and then ripping Cyclops out of time just as Jean is ready to flash dust him, maybe any biomatter is just a layer of skin that gets sloughed off during the time jump. Cable takes Cykes to the future. Tells him he's still needed but will return him when its neccessary. Cable comes back, meets up with Maddie Pryor, who will be Cable's mother eventually. Maddie can either look exactly like Famke or be Famke. Honestly a Famke-esque actress would be fine, just keep the current dude as Cyclops. And then some kind of adventure ensues which ends up with Maddie and Scott getting married and moving to Alaska and having a young Nathan Christopher.

Then at least they can bring Cyclops back to X4. Since Cable will be mainly about his return and establishing Cable as a time jumping badass.

Me, too. I am Cable on Xbox Live!;)

Eh, just make him Scott and Jean's son from the future. And only elude to it, don't make it the central point. Skip the whole Sinister/Goblin Queen/Apocolypse/Askani/Stryfe storyline. Explaining Cable's origin is harder then explaining Spawn's, Wolverine's, and The Pheonix's combined.

They should do a Power Man and Iron Fist movie. With Iron Fist slightly modified into an Asian-American so that he can be played by Tony Jaa.

Problem is, Cable's entire backstory is entrenched in X-Men mythology. You seperate that from him and he's basically just a psychic cyborg with a gun.

Cable? Nighthawk? Vision?

These characters warrant their own films? How do you have a Vision movie without the Avengers or a Cable movie without the X-Men?

BWA-HA-HA-HAW! I KNEW it! it was only a matter of time before Marvel got ''HIGH on there own SUPPLY''!:guffaw:Too many flicks one after the other is never good for business!

Watchmen's already made back its budget (not counting the money spent on advertising). The only reason it's being considered a flop is because of the incredible amounts of hype that the movie had. I also don't think Iron Man was all that well known before its movie (I don't generally read comics and I don't really remember being aware of him before I started to hear about the movie) but that was successful at the box office.

Agreed with the FIRST half of this. Vehemently DISagreed on the second half.

Back OT: And once again the New Warriors get overlooked, as does Nova (who could easily carry a solo project).
