That is not hard to do. Troi just struggles with her job in a way that is almost painful for me with counseling training.

Ikr. I think a counsellor as a recurring character is acrually a good idea, especially a telepathic one, but Troi never amounts to much except maybe in Picard. Guinan ends up doin more ironically

I'm not a fan of Mariner at all but I'm actually getting to like Boimler, having seen him in live-action makes me appreciate what he's capable of. (Like the scene in the shuttlecraft where he secretly contacts the Orions to get the grain back, because he doesn't want the colonists to starve.) He's not just an annoying twit like I used to think he was.

I would absolutely love it if LD did an entire episode in live-action...

Hey, if the man can't remember character names, he can't. Although "the second time traveler" would have sufficed.

Anyway, it doesn't look like his problem with Mariner is that she's a woman, but that she's an asshole. And honestly, he's not wrong.

Oh is that what the pissyness was about, I didn't name her by name? Man I can't remember the names of people I worked with for years sometimes. I struggle with names and faces. Expecting me to remember a guest cast name is a tall order.
Unless it's TNG years, I think my young brain absorbed all that like a sponge an started tailing off late into Voyager's run. :guffaw:

As a separate addendum that I didn't put in my review I wanted to say even though I struggled with the episode a bit, I liked the warmth. This show radiates warmth. I love that.
