Let's NOT get personal, OK. Refute an argument and disagree if you wish, but keep it non-personal please. Keep the Bonz happy. She's had a rough week.

It was a cute episode and Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome both did a good job. However, I thought the script oversold the idea that every single member of the "main" crew was famous in the future.

Hasn’t that been a thing since TNG? Though not in season 1 for some reason.

    Except Nurse Chapel, apparently.

And even if the rest aren't generally famous, they're definitely famous to hardcore Trekkies like Boims and Mariner.

Hell, Ortegas lives in reverence of Travis Mayweather's career. So...yeah. :)

Are you kidding? Riker saw a clothed person in a shower and thought "That's just like what happened to Kirk!"

I see Kirk and Spock as akin to Patton and MacArthur in terms of how well known they'd be to the general public of the Lower Decks era, let alone high ranking officers. I'm honestly not so sure that would translate to everyone else on the crew having that level of fame, which is almost how it came off here. I realize it's something of a comment on us, the Trekkies, but it just seemed to go a little crazy here. Maybe someone here with military service can comment more intelligently than I on just how "fanboyish" members of the military are to past officers.

As mentioned, the Lower Deckers are Starfleet fanboys, even Mariner. They are us. Other Starfleet members probably don't care all that much about Uhura or Sulu or that time the Enterprise went to a gangster planet.

I thought they had to dig through records or something because it seemed familiar.

Yes, but it was familiar because he was reading about Kirk and Co's adventures. I wasn't suggesting he was Becket Mariner and had memorized them.
