There is a tendency to think that any new alien on a show is also new in universe. I've seem it done with Betazoids.
The Betazoid one is interesting as one of the Discovery novels implied that at this time, they keep their telepathy abilities a secret. I wonder if that will make it to live action.

I'm going with no. Especially if they're anything like Lwaxana.

Also, the 1701 looked INCREDIBLE animated.
I wonder if they used a TAS cell or something as reference. lol

The last-minute inclusion of a callback to Enterprise was a nifty way to technobabble themselves into a solution and also allowed the SNW crew to fanboy themselves for like 30 seconds. It would have been a much sweeter scene if someone didn't explicitly call it out though.
Mayweather had more screentime in SNW than he did on ENT. lol

One additional thought: While I understand the desire to also have Tendi and Rutherford as live action here, I'm glad they avoided the temptation. LDS even has trouble having episodes which balance all four of them, giving them something useful to do. I feel like the inclusion of the two of them into the episode (beyond the animated framing scenes) would have tipped the show into feeling like a live-action LDS episode, and basically sidelined the SNW cast too much.

I figured Boimler would at least throw in a "I thought it'd be smaller" line regarding the bridge. But oh well.
