Heh, I have broadass shoulders so sounds like I’ll need to probably go up a size - thanks for the input.
Finally put on my Cosmart SNW uniform with the Fluevog Starfleet boots. I had a devilish time zipping up the boots because of my muscular calves.
I need to have the tunic and pants altered. They're baggie in spots.
But since it's Chinese sizing, I erred on the side of caution and got a large. The pants are medium and fit fine but I want it taken in to a more skinny jean taper, since that's how the show's trousers are.
When I have it altered, I might even see if they can make the collar look more like the one on the show. And maybe add shoulder pads to it like on the show. Not that I need the padding.
But accuracy and all.
Overall though, not bad.

Looks pretty good. Now all you need to do is Photoshop a tricorder over your phone. 
Yeah, the collar on these is a standard tee shirt collar - a little more than a half an inch. The collars on the studio outfits are an inch high, and it looks like the back of the neck may rise a little more:
I've never owned high, zippered boots so I'm a little worried about the durability of the zipper on the Fluevogs, not to mention the elastic panels. Well, they've been in business for a few minutes and they have a good rep, so I guess I'm just borrowing trouble. It's not like I'll wear these more than a few days a year.

I ordered a kit for some 3D printed props.
They were easy to put together, they just needed super glue. I added the metallic paint and moire pattern. The communicator flips open. There's no room for electronics though.

Those props really have grown on me. Very nicely designed - still have the Wah Chang classic feel but with modern design aesthetics.
Yeah the props are nice. Glad they stayed with the original designs rather than shrink everything.
If you're going to remake the props from TOS I don't think there is a better way to do it. They're perfect and the new shows have had some great looking props.

Personally I'm not a fan of that half-collar on the SNW uniform.
I kind of hoped the show would be able to snag or reuse the Kelvin'verse uniforms, those were perfect updates to the original design.

Exactly. Before we saw them, I was hoping they make something closer to TOS and didn't really expect it - and then they did!
I'm torn between the SNW ones and the Beyond ones. Perhaps a dress unform could have a Beyond style high collar.

The SNW outfits are better. Better silhouette, better colors, better detail, more variety, and they move better. Look at Kirk and McCoy there - they look like their tailor is Oscar Meyer.
